Hi peeps, can i ask your advice, where it says "Please use space below to add any additional information, which you feel, has not been covered and which you would like us to take into consideration eg other training, relevant experience, any interests"

does it mean i need to say why i should think i should be offered the job etc etc, do you think its the type of thing to go in the box.

Then ill have to write why i should work for X company when to me its a job that pays
  • Congratulations Hayleymoo - well done !

I have got an interview a week on Friday - just got the call this afternoon. The agency girl was lovely and said the company were really impressed with my CV ! Its my first interview so lots of homework for me - researching the company and possible questions !!
If everything happens for a reason - I wish someone would hurry up and tell me the reason !:)

I had the worst day first of all I had swallow my pride and make a appointment to go the job centre to see about going on Jobseekers. I then got a call from a company inviting me to a interview tomorrow and that they will email me with the address details so I waited and there was no email. My email address is right next to my telephone number on my CV so they did have my email address because they call me. I called the company and they said that they did not know anything about the interview and that they would get someone to call me I am still waiting for the call.

I keep looking on the jobsites and see that most of the jobs on there that I have already applied for and waiting to hear or I was unsuccessful for.

My life really sucks at the moment and really hope that when I go to the job centre that I have a advisor that treats me with respect.

What about next step for techniques

    Thanks for this.
Two friends told me to lie (or exagerate the truth). I am good at acting so am going to practice, then give it a go at the next interview;)

Hello2007 - Sorry you have had a bad day - keep your chin up though ! I had to sign on for the first time yesterday and really was not looking forward to it at all. I was quite lucky yesterday and the girl was very nice. I still felt very out of place there and you are just a number ...but I suppose its all character building ! As somone else said to me on here make sure you go in smart and hold your head up !!

    Good luck !!

    Evening all,

Sorry I haven't been around for a while, i've been experiencing some technical difficulties and have ended up having to reset my computer to factory settings. Just been catching up on what you've all been up to and i'm so sorry that many of you have still been experiencing some hard times with the job hunting but really pleased to hear Haleymoo's good news.

I had another interview yesterday morning for quite an interesting job which I have quite a bit of previous experience for, the agency have said the interviewers really liked me but they're still interviewing other candidates so won't hear till the end of the week. Not getting my hopes up on this one as i've built myself up before and had my hopes dashed.

Hope there is some more good news around here soon.

    Hi Everyone
Congratulations Hayley Moo, you really deserve it gal!.:D
I've seen nothing to apply for Mon/Tues but I think its more because I need either term time only or nights & weekend jobs because of my son & hubbys work so it really limits it down.
Coming from a job I gave up to have my son over 6years ago that was quite decently paid I have been shocked at the meagre amount of pay some of these places offer!.
I'm doing a bit of direct phone calling today at a hospital as the kind of jobs I want are not been advertised yet everyone (even the HR dept at the Hospital who I spoke to yesterday) tells me through the night & weekend staff are hard to find so I figured I've nothing to lose by just calling them direct (even if it does seem desperate, which I am:rotfl:) I'm just figuring the best/least busy time so call I'm not a nuisance.
I've applied for another night job but it's three weeks until the application date closes & I just don't feel I can sit twiddling my thumbs waiting for them for that long (not that much thumb twiddling goes on in the school hols:rotfl:).
Here goes another day of hunting, good luck everyone!.
  • Good morning.

Well done and congratulations Hayley Moo. It seems like ages since anyone got a job on this thread so perhaps there is hope! Good luck.

I went to sign on on Monday. The advisor must have realised that I was completely cheesed off as he was exceptionally nice to me. He said I was doing all I could to find a job and my diary was a lot more impressive than a lot of other people he sees. At my job centre they have stopped doing job searches so it was really quick - just signed and off I went.

BUT the security guard from hell was on duty. I stood at the front of the queue waiting to hand my stuff in where the security guard stands and he told me to "stand there" pointing to a spot on the ground literally no more than 1 foot from where I was standing. So the rebel in me moved forward 1.5 feet and stood with my back to him! Then later on while I was waiting he told a man off for leaning against the wall - apparently it leaves a mark. Perhaps if they had a few more seats in there no-one would need to stand against the wall (sometimes the wait is 45 minutes). Of course this made all of us snigger like children.

Well that's my first setback for the day. After been encouraged yesterday to ring the hospital department direct I this morning had to speak to the HR department to get a direct line only the snotty lady said I couldn't speak to someone as
"All jobs are on the web site & you have to apply for them in the correct manner"! :( oh well onwards!!
