Im considring popping down to the business where i had the last interview and try and enquire if theres news but as ive said i cant remember the persons name, i was thinking about asking the guy who i spoke to regarding my presence for the interview for any news or if he could point me in the direction of the interviewer. Is this wise, its nearly been a week since the interview and still interested.
  • Thought I'd join the thread too- If I may? I have recently moved and started the task of looking for work. I have been applying for jobs since end of May- and had 1 face to face interview and 1 phone interview. I have had numerous rejections- too many to count- and I have had so many where I have not even heard back (do not really expect to hear back now either) After my phone interview I was rejected- Im not really sure why, as its exactly the same role I have been employed in previously- but hey ho... The face to face interview was interesting to say the least! The lady in question was the company director and spent most of the interview telling me all about the company- how great they were doing etc (which was interesting) She only asked me 1 question about myself- she just said tell me about yourself- and then proceeded to but in half way through and talk about the company again. She slated my CV by saying it didnt say anything about me in there and asked me was that the way CVs were done these days- Its lists all my skills, work experience, qualifications-is a page in length so dont know really what she wanted on there. She asked me was I having any more children- or if I was thinking of having any more children- She also asked about what I would for childcare for summer holidays etc- I told her I had a husband, as well as family and also there is a holiday club too- I cam out of that interview feeling really rubbish- the best thing she said to me was she had advertised 2 jobs and had 635 applications and not to be too disheartned if I didnt get the job as there was people who had been out of work longer than me and I should be grateful to have had an interview! Oh well- we will see what happens
Now im debt free i want to be fat free too!

Welcome to the club, I hope you were not too disheartened by the face to face. It sounds like the interviewer was unexperienced

I think so. 'Dear Sir/Madam' sounds more personal than 'To whom it may concern'.
    Good luck!

I thought that too. Or intentions regarding having children at all!

I think today couldn't have started off much better, well it started off with 2 slight downers but got much better. Got to the LD centre to find it didnt open till 10 30(ramadan) which i wasnt informed of, i thought today was a meeting with my JC advisor but it wasnt as the meeting is next week with another advisor. Handed in 2 cv's at 2 shops at an outlet centre and 1 of them said there might be something soon as people off to uni which sounded promising. Managed to get into LD centre(guy was late) and completed my literacy and ms word practice exams and scored not too bad and handed in application form i got the other day.

I hope other peopl are also having an eventful day.

    Hi all,

Was really positive on Monday and applied to some jobs which fit my experience perfectly. However, none of the recruitment agencies have got in touch - do you think it's worthwhile giving them a call or should I just assume that my application hasn't been progressed?

    Thanks,
