    Hey all,

I'm sorry to hear things aren't great for job hunting :(

Keep your spirits up. I have just been asked to start full time in my job on Monday so I've ended up exactly where I wanted to be in the end although it's been a slow process! It went from temp to part time to full time so don't rule out doing temp work, it can often get your foot in the door and if a perm job comes up you'll be asked to interview more often than not.

Apart from that, have some hugs and chocolate ;)

Did they start you part-time to save on recruitment agency fees? Or was it just the way it worked out?

Have to say I'm a bit down today :( I have about 4 weeks left of my current contract and the chances of having something lined up for after are dwindling. I also haven't heard a dickie bird from the jobs I've applied for in the last couple of weeks, all jobs in similar discipline to what I do now so I'd at least hoped for some interviews :(

Haven't even seen anything new to apply for in a while either.

Sorry to hear that you are down, hope things are better soon

Just the way it worked out. The workload has doubled since I started and we now need 9 more people in the next month. It's a bit manic to be honest.
Just because you made a mistake doesn't mean you are a mistake.

Heard back today about a tesco i made other week, they said thanks but no thanks so not sre what they're looking for, even included a letter to enhance my application.

After a day out yesterday (Piggybacking a seat in the car) managed to find a couple of jobs to apply for this morning. In a way being a Graduate is proving more of a hindrance than a help because I really don't know where to pitch myself. If I apply to entry level positions I am laughed off as someone who would leave quickly and I obviously lack the experience for more advanced positions. After working so damn hard at Uni there is something disheartening about applying for jobs that have C Grade GCSE's as requirements!

Anyway now I suppose it is a case of seeing what sport there is on the box and waiting for Monday.

Well what a bad start to the week.

Open up the e-mail box...2 e-mails and 2 rejections...well I suppose it can only get better?

any of you thought of self employment. I am going to my local chamber of commerce this week on a course about s/e. I am going to find stuff out.

Mine didn't pay enough unfortunately but glad I did the investigation into its viability. Self employment would be great though, no boss...

I would be lying if I hadn't thought about starting my own business but have a couple of fairly fundamental problems

    1) You have to have an idea...as much as anything over the last year my spark and creativity seem to have completely gone down the tubes.
    2) I think that you need some experience of the world of work and how business operate before jumping into it yourself. Perhaps in a year or two I will have a greater knowledge of what is required etc.
    3) Obviously finance would be a major challenge. I tend to be fairly conservative with money and risking a wad of cash on a venture would be uncomfortable.
