Just checked, the legal right kicks in when the notice of redundancy has been issued

Two interviews lined up this week, then I guess it will become quiet for the 6 weeks of summer.

    Good luck for your interviews!

Still no news at my end :( I mentioned a few pages back that I'd set myself up with a .com as an online CV of sorts. Well the bad thing is, I put a tracker on the website to see where people were finding my website from and how many were visiting etc. Well, today I've had 2 people visiting from Google searches of my name. Now I have a quite uncommon first name so chances are they were looking for me. Now I'm just so curious and desperate to know if they were possibly from the jobs I've applied for over the last few weeks!

Feeling slightly better today....if only I had anything to show for it.

Got in touch with the firm I had the interview with last week and got the bad news that I had failed there. Another example though of poor recruitment practices as the person hadn't got back to me when he said he would due to going on a business trip the day after the interview. I would have much preferred him to be honest last week and say that it may take a while to hear back as at least I then know where I stand.

I then tried to get into contact with the person I worked with at the football club last year about perhaps training for the next level up. While the last place I want to work is that place as the torrents of abuse and sheer embarrassment of having a 1st Class Degree but doing a days work for £20 in a fast food joint make it a horrible place to be. But he was out of the office

Applied for a couple of jobs on Reed but was swiftly rejected by both.

Also had a frustrating one with a job I saw on Totaljobs. Last month I applied for a job on JCP and never heard back. This weekend saw it listed again on Totaljobs and thought I would send the CV again in case it got a more favourable reception. I then get an e-mail back saying that they would have liked to interview me but had already filled the position. Shows that you can never rely on these jobs websites and that they don't read all the application's they receive anyway.

i now how you feel, surely he knew about the trip in advance so could have said it might be a little due to X, i was promised a call back the following week which never came and it turns out they were so busy (summer + sales) that she hadnt had chance to get back to me but i think as its so late now that its gone my oppurtunity at that business. It is quite annoying when they promise to call back by a certain day but dont stick to it.

Please help - I have been struggling this past week with rejection after rejection and now I do not have any interviews to look forward to either.

Each time I ask for feedback, I get the same response which is "you made a good impression and have the right skills but another candidate had more experience in xxx area"

Sorry for moan, just feeling extremley low today and is the first time I have felt like this since being unemployed :(

If you make a good impression and have the right skills then your interview technique must be good. The lack of interviews could be that it is the start of the holiday period.

I just back from my Work Programme interview and I am so angry. He said I was doing too much voluntary work, my course was taking too much time out of my job search and 2/3 hours a day at least isn't enough with regards to the job search to be looking at the same 20 jobs over and over again. I'm apparently spreading myself too thin

can understand your anger. The man sounds like a buffoon. Does he not understand multitasking?

Feel free to moan - this is the right place for it!

I've heard this a lot too. I'm doing some part time temp work at the moment to keep myself sane. The only thing to do is keep going (and eat chocolate ;)). I'm guessing you've probably considered this, but are there any contract positions available for you to apply for?

Hope you feel better and good news comes your way soon.

I'm sorry everyone seems to be having a bit of a hard time of it at the moment, the long summer months aren't the easiest for job hunting.

I had that lovely moment today where I got to tell my advisor I am signing off and he also managed to give me enough money for my first months travelcard for the tube in London. I got lucky with that advisor, he's been very helpful!

So it's my last few days of freedom and I've been having more than the odd moment of doubt about making the right decision to take the job but I do want to move back to London and better to have a job than not. I'll miss my lie ins and afternoon naps though!
