Darn it i have to wait until thursday to speak to the person who interviewed me other saturday,

The waiting is killer, isn't it :( I'm STILL waiting to find out from my interview near the beginning of June. Called 2 weeks ago and was told last week but nothing. Debating whether to call today or wait until the end of the week :(

Applied for a few things last week as well and I just hate the waiting!

Spoke to my Jobcentre advisor person and he said they would pay my travel expenses to London (no maybes, I asked would they, he asked where to, I said London, he said no problem!).

So I have an interview on Monday morning with one company who I'm a bit dubious about but will give them the benefit of the doubt as it may just be the way the man came across on the phone!

I also have an agency interview to arrange down there too.

Just sorting out staying with a friend for a few days :)

I signed onto The Work Programme today, the adviser said they wouldn't force me into any old job so that's good and the provider is doing meetings in my town rather than me having to go on hour long bus journeys every fortnight, so it's not too bad, will see what happens. The adviser told me it has gone very quiet in the town for jobs and they don't think it's going to pick up much over the next few months which is very promising.....

Well i had the interview i mentioned earlier, cant see myself working there as i didnt get that vibe or feeling. Probably doesnt help being set in someones home. It was interesting to hear how many applicants had applied for the job and how far the applicants were eg kent, poland etc.
  • Isn't it funny how you hear nothing for months and months and then you get 2 interviews in 1 day?!? :)

Id like other posters opinion again, application form from job centre website says to continue on a separate sheet for work history if needed but is it ok if i typed the extra sheet OR hand write as the form has to be hand written OR just fill the box in with last 2 jobs.

I'd hand write it all - but I'd use a plain sheet of paper and use a lined page behind it so I get straight lines!

    Good luck!

Hi - I took voluntary redundancy last month so am looking for jobs. Finding getting interviews fine (about 50% to 100% of jobs interview me) but not getting through the interviews. Very frustrating - been to about 10 interviews so far including 3 this week. Got a good payout so no financial pressure and got 2 kids so things to do but it's very frustrating. Wish I knew why I wasn't getting though interviews but feedback hasn't said much - just "experience was excellent but concerned about fit with team", or "other people had better experience" or "performance was fine, just to do with development of role in future" or sometimes they wanted a specific skill I didn't have. Wondering how many interviews its going to take? Not helped by DH saying can't believe you haven't got a job yet, you'll never get a job and you've been applying for so long.

Doesn't your DH know that we're in the midst of a recession!!! honestly that's so unhelpful, stay around here so that you get positive support.

How often do you have to meet with your WP adviser? I've read so many conflicting things it would be good to know from somebody that's currently on the programme :)
