I've come home from my voluntary work to an email from an agency I've never heard of asking me to contact them as they have a vacancy I might be suitable for. I've checked them out and they have a proper, professional looking website and I've had a look at their offices on Google maps and they seem genuine. Its all a bit mysterious!! Of course now I've got to wait until Monday to ring them so will be wondering all weekend.0

Hi - I took voluntary redundancy last month so am looking for jobs. Finding getting interviews fine (about 50% to 100% of jobs interview me) but not getting through the interviews. Very frustrating - been to about 10 interviews so far including 3 this week. Got a good payout so no financial pressure and got 2 kids so things to do but it's very frustrating. Wish I knew why I wasn't getting though interviews but feedback hasn't said much - just "experience was excellent but concerned about fit with team", or "other people had better experience" or "performance was fine, just to do with development of role in future" or sometimes they wanted a specific skill I didn't have. Wondering how many interviews its going to take? Not helped by DH saying can't believe you haven't got a job yet, you'll never get a job and you've been applying for so long.0

still not had a call back that was promised earlier today, i normally would give up but as i got more a vibe from it i really want the job. Little unsure if i should ring her again next week and give her the weekend to get back to me. Whats everyones thoughts please, should i leave it till next week to call her back ?
I know how you feel! I'm still waiting on the result of the interview I had at the beginning of June. I always give a bit of lee-way to what they say, for example, I was told at the interview it would be a couple of weeks for a decision so I left it 2 weeks before calling to follow up. Follow up call they told me this week, still haven't heard, so I'll call again on Monday maybe.
Although, I really don't want to come across as harassing them. It's a difficult one, isn't it!0 -

I know, it builds your hopes up a little as well because you think "no news is good news" and surely they'd have just have told you on the follow-up call if you were unsuccessful to save you calling again!
It doesn't help that I applied at the same company last year for something completely different. I was unsuccessful at the interview then and received a letter saying so. So I keep telling myself that because I haven't received the rejection letter yet then maybe I'm in with a shot!
Think I might wait until mid-week to call again now :embarasse0 -
and if so how long would you leave it ?
have applied for a couple of jobs since i got made redundant at the end of June - OK i know today's only the 10th of July so is it too early to ring / email them next week asking if theres any news
or would you not ring them ?
i dont want to put people off , on the other hand how long does it take to get a yes or a no you are being considered ?0 -

I would keep applying for other jobs and do not ring them because they will have hundreds of CVs to look at and will only contact you if they are interested.
Some employers will not contact you so no news is bad news.0 -

Good Morning Folks
I just wanted some advice from you kind people out there on my situation -
I went for an interview at an accountants firm for an accounts position. The position was not advertised - I just sent in a spec letter with a copy of my cv, which resulted in me being invited for an interview. The interview went quite well and the employer did verbally agree with me after the interview, that they will be calling me back within the next 2 weeks for a second (final) interview.
The 2 weeks have now just finished but I have not heard from them. Do you think it would be a good idea to phone them just to remind them, or shall I wait for another week?
By the way, the original interview was arranged via email. So, do you think it would be better if email them to ask when they will be calling me back rather than phoning them?
Thanks in advance for your response.0
