My husband is currently sitting outside a building waiting to go in for his interview. Has been waiting 3 weeks since a phone interview and going slowly round the twist as there is nothing else out there at the moment. He's been interviewed and put forward for stuff, but it's all gone on hold while the companys examine their navel fluff trying to make a decision about spending some money........

Please, please, let this be the right one.

    Good Luck to him...

Fingers crossed for him. Its terrible how long they make you wait these days - you'd think they would work out if they can afford the post before they advertise it.

I've not really got anything to report. At last I have found the perfect job, well one that I have the right experience for, but its quite a bit less money that previously, although of course I'm still going to apply. I'm not getting my hopes up though as I've been disappointed too many times before and I can't take much more rejection!

    Thanks for your good wishes.

He's just phoned from after the interview, they want to see him again, but not sure when yet.

    Hey guys :)

I'm sorry, I forgot to make a new thread before I left for my holiday! I'm back today and feeling quite jet lagged and poo. I haven't had any news on my job yet although had to sign an online "statement of fact" so hopefully that means they are getting somewhere! I'm in work tomorrow and wish now I'd taken it off, I need to sleep :rotfl:

Hope everyone is well, I'll try to read back but anyone been offered a job while I was gone? :)

Welcome back Drea, hope you had a good holiday.

I wouldn't worry about starting a new thread just yet, I think it's 5000 posts that the system starts to complain and then the mods will probably just ask you to start a new one.

Not much good news around from memory, some bad luck here and there, some new posters have joined us.

Hope all goes well when you go in tomorrow.

Yes, just gave the person who interviewed me on saturday and she said she would give me a call later on today so looking good. Maybe there were some extra people to interview she wasnt aware of which maybe why she didnt call yesterday. Just asked if there was any news.

Bit dead on here today, had an interview for a job id sent cv in response to and to be honest i didnt get that vibe, i got more vibes from the interview i had on saturday but that might be because i have an interest in it.
  • Hi all,

Unfortunately, looks like I'll be officially joining you all very soon :( So I'm back on the jobhunt and to be honest, really down about it. Don't really know if I can handle being unemployed again after 6 months of it last year!

Anyway, just wanted to ask, do you guys follow up every application with a phone call? I've applied for a job I really quite fancy, only in the last few days or so, and I'm debating whether to phone to follow up after the closing date.

I've always kind of taken the approach that if they were interested then they'd contact me, but I'm really willing to give anything a go right now!

Just heard back from my last interview and did not get the job :( Also head back from a job that I was interested in and apparently I'm overqualified. Feeling very low....

Scotishgirl87 - I don't think there is any harm in following up with a phone call. Shows your interest. Good luck!

I am having the worst week my new job that I was due to start this week I had to decline because it was not suitable. The other job that I had multiple interviews for well its turns out that they never had work for me in the first place and were hoping to find a job for me.

I have not seem much on the jobsites this week and it is getting me down.
