It's an ITQ I do it distance learning and fully funded, the tutor is great too, just did it as have no formal IT qualifications. Good to fill the gap on the CV. The local learning centre wanted £200ish to do it through them in the evening!

    Wrong mindset.

A Plan B is is fine when you already have something concrete in place. Until then there is no need for a Plan B.

but im thinking positive of having a plan B rather than thinking i dont have an interview lined up any time soon, i understand what your saying,

I just thought, when i had the interview on saturday i didnt actually shave, it wasnt long or untidy or anything, it was more like this 1.

I normally do shave like every other day but for some reason i didnt do it day before.

Im just a little paranoid it might have harmed my chances.

    Hi all

I know my experience isn't typical but I thought you might like to hear a good news story. Since applying for JSA a couple of weeks ago, I've managed to secure two interviews and got work from both of them. One was only a temporary job but the other is permanent. It's 10 hours a week part time but as I'm going back to uni in September, I'll be able to do it while I'm studying.

I'm really pleased. They're happy to be flexible with the rota to avoid lectures once I have my timetable. It's not a lot more than the JSA amount but it'll get me out and meeting people.

I'm almost most relieved to have something to tell the job centre at my appointment next week!

    Good luck to everyone.

  • I applied for a job yesterday almost immediately after it was advertised. I really fancy it as well, only thing putting me off is it's a bit of a travel for me but I'll just wait and see what happens. It's quite similar to what I do now but full time, better wage and probably better looking on my CV for the future. Anyway, today they've actually sent me "thanks, we received your application" email, wonders will never cease!

Speaking of what I do now, I should have an answer by the end of this week on what's happening with my fixed term contract that's due to end this month! Fingers crossed!

    Hey guys :)

I'm sorry, I forgot to make a new thread before I left for my holiday! I'm back today and feeling quite jet lagged and poo. I haven't had any news on my job yet although had to sign an online "statement of fact" so hopefully that means they are getting somewhere! I'm in work tomorrow and wish now I'd taken it off, I need to sleep :rotfl:

Hope everyone is well, I'll try to read back but anyone been offered a job while I was gone? :)

I finally managed to speak to my agency today after a week of silence. Not their fault it turns out, haven't been able to get hold of the guy who interviewed me but they know someone who works there and someone has started so clearly I didn't get the job. Apparently they came from another agency as well.

They've put me forward for another couple of roles, one of them I know is better paid than the one I interviewed for so not so bad that I didn't get it if I have a shot at the same job for better money elsewhere!

It's not been easy though, I'm really down at the moment, even though I've had a great few days socially it only highlights how detached I am from working society at the moment and I dread when you meet people and they ask what I do. "Erm, nothing, currently unemployed but I am looking, honest!"

My husband is currently sitting outside a building waiting to go in for his interview. Has been waiting 3 weeks since a phone interview and going slowly round the twist as there is nothing else out there at the moment. He's been interviewed and put forward for stuff, but it's all gone on hold while the companys examine their navel fluff trying to make a decision about spending some money........

Please, please, let this be the right one.
