Hope you get good news from your interview

I get that feeling a lot after interviews. It sucks. I have replied to your PM by the way :).

    Thanks Charlie-Chan

Does anyone know if I am right in thinking I won't be able to claim JSA from September because I'll be studying part time? My hours will be 9.00 - 5.30 Monday and 5.30 til 8.00 Wednesday. I therefore obviously can't be available to look for full time work so guess it will stop?

16 hours a week or more is considered full-time study by JC (much like work).

I was studying part-time last year when I was claiming and my hours added up to about 10, I was allowed to still sign on but had to look for full-time work and would have had to give up my courses if a job conflicted with them. They didn't care that I was going on to full-time study in September.

I thought this would be the case. Just spoken to my Mom about it as I'm really worried. I'm doing everything I can and just hate how crap the economy is. Never ever thought I'd be out of work this long. My Mom has said if it comes to it her and my dad will set up with a weekly allowance to help me out as I'll only get £295 from student finance a year from what I can work out. Can't actually apply for it until August so I won't know the exact amount until then

I totally sympathise, I returned to college as a mature student and had to give up in March because I just could find another job (I had 10 hours a week but it wasn't nearly enough). I just hit financial meltdown as I don't have family support and live alone!

So that's my educational aspirations over with for now and back to the jobs I was trying to get away from!

It's awful isn't it. They really should offer more help to those of us who want to better ourselves and go back into education.

There's one job in the paper I can apply for so that's cheered me up a little bit, and dare I say it but it would also fit round uni.

I'd like to say "where one door closes another one opens" but I seem to have a lot closing and not many opening :rotfl:

I sometimes feel like that, it can be hard, please be nice to yourself.

Most of us are all unemployable failures at the moment, you are in good company, dont let the other b****** get you down

I will try to, just had a shower and feel better now.

I think I do sometimes forget that I'm not alone, it's just tough competition for us all when there are so many people after the very few jobs that are around.

I shall tell myself it was their loss not mine :)
