Thanks :) just getting ready to leave!
Just because you made a mistake doesn't mean you are a mistake.

Morning all...got my Cash office interview today which while it wouldn't start until September would be a step in the right direction at last.

At least the last few days have been busy. Went to Cambridge for 3 days from Thursday and then tomorrow I go to London to a reception at Parliament and a day at Wimbledon on Wednesday (weather permitting)
  • I have recently become unemployed (due to dismissal) and I was pointed towards this thread by a fellow poster.

I applied for a job on Friday and I have now gotten an interview. I can only hope that my reference for my previous employment where I was dismissed doesn't let me down.

Congratulations to those who have gotten a job after a lengthy service of watching Jeremy Kyle (just kidding, who watches that? lol).

Cheers and welcome to the "jobshy" & the great unwashed! Have to confess to a student offspring who watches Jeremy Kyle (I blame the parents).

Congrats on getting an interview so quickly, hope it goes well. I believe the amount of stuff that can be put in a reference is very limited so you should be ok

Welcome the the thread - there are a great bunch of people on here. I have to confess I occasionally watch Jeremy Kyle - it does wonders for my self esteem. I sit there thinking I'm an OK person - I am actually looking for a job, I don't need a DNA test for anything, I know who my parents, brothers, sisters etc are, I've not fallen out with any members of my family and I have managed to get to 45 years old and have only lost one tooth!

I spent the whole weekend worrying about my 13 week review this morning but it was fine. The Advisor basically said that I was doing everything I could do to find a job and it is the job market that is holding me back. It only took 15 minutes and my appointment was for 30 minutes so I was in and out really quickly.

It is very easy to overworry. I worried for the two weeks before my dismissal and I was right to worry (due to the outcome).

The job market is very poor but I have found that sometimes you can find jobs in the most unlikely places when you aren't looking.

Thank you both for your welcome. I have nothing against Jeremy Kyle, I find the show very amusing lol. I have joked with my OH (who will be supporting me in the future if needs be) that I should become unwashed :rotfl:.

Urgh I hate Mondays, looks like I got a 13 week wait for a Driving Test as moving to a different test centre this time, am bored of driving round the same town and failing with 2-3 minors and one serious. Going to have a go at the other town with a much much less complex road layout there. Only one job to apply for today :(
