Just had two rejections, one by letter, one by email. Managed to see them within the same hour. I've asked for feedback as offered.
Not much more to apply for at the moment.
Best wishes,

I have just come back from an interview and was offered the job immediately. (Start tomorrow)
It is a cleaning job 20 hours a week starting at 7.15am . £6.00 an hour.
There is a possibility of more hours maybe doing something else in the company
(Iv'e been doing office work for the last 5 years so this is very different). I have had no luck finding another office job as employers seem to want more skills than I can offer i.e accounts experience/audio typing.
It was advertised yesterday on the job centre website (14th), I hand delivered my CV and cover letter the same day. I called the company this morning (15th) and was offered an interview to come in a hour later.
Good luck to all those who have interviews this week. I'll call in here tomorrow and let you know how I got on.0 -
well nothing in the job section in the paper, hardly nothing new on direct.gov,0

Wow well done Jill. It's not easy getting those ones advertised by the Job Centre because they usually get loads of applicants. I had an interview for a shop job advertised by the Job Centre, he had about 15 CVs in his hand, they were the ones being interviewed! (I didn't get it as he thought I would leave as soon as a TV job would come up, which is what I would have done!).
I'm hoping some work comes my way for a bit, I have a week's work start of July, but that's it so far!0 -
I had an interview this morning but I don't want to get my hopes up about it. Should hear back early next week, REALLY hope they stick to that!
Applying for a Sunday job at Accessorize, another Teaching Assistant post and also filling in an application form for a catering assistant. There's not actually any jobs going at the minute for the last one but the company is where my BF's sister works and they will keep me on file.
Hope things start to look up soon. Not looked on job centre yet, will look in a bit.
On the good side of things I've just remembered it's Friday I'm off to see Jason Manford :j No idea how I forgot :rotfl:Saved: £1566.53/ £20000 -
Have fun at the comedy gig, I saw Milton Jones last month he was so funny, going to see Dave Gorman later in the year. Unemployment's bad for me I need to fill the days with things like this! I remember once at work the program we were using was down (an internet based program) and in that time I bought tickets to see Good Charlotte! Lol!0

Glad (but sad) to know I'm not alone. Job hunting is such hard work. Have applied for around 250 roles (I do contract project management work) since March and not had a single interview. I've exploited all my personal contacts, loaded my CV to approopriate websites, follow-up with those dreaded recruitment agencies on a regular basis. And still nothing. I'm not registered as unemployed (because I work through my own limited company so am still paying away my PAYE to HMRC). I'm sure there are plenty of others like me who aren't included in any official government stats. It's tough to keep going. At the start of each day I feel full of hope and enthusiasm. By the end I feel exhausted - even if I haven't received a single phone call! How do others keep themselves motivated?0

Thank youI saw Dara O'Briain last year who was great.
:rotfl: that's quite amusing. Were they good? I've done that before when systems have been down, was iron Maiden tickets I bought.Have applied for around 250 roles How do others keep themselves motivated?
wow that's a lot! I thought my 64 since January was bad. Unfortunately it's very common to never back from people these days, I think they just get too many people apply which in some 2ways I understand but I do think that the time it takes us to fill in forms, pay for envelopes and stamps then a letter saying thanks but no thanks isn't much to ask really.
As for keeping motivated for me I started volunteering at a school 3 days a week (I'll be training to be a Teacher from Sept) which is the only thing that keeps me sane. For 3 days I can forget i'm unemployed for a few hours. Also limiting how many job searches I do a day helps. And remember that it's not just you in this situation also helps as for a while I started doubting myself and believed I must be unemployable.Saved: £1566.53/ £20000 -

I think what swung it for me was handing it in in person rather posting it. Found out also the person I handed it to was also the decision maker. (She interviewed me) So she had seen me in person IYKWIM.
Also I took it around to the company the same day it came on the JC website. So the next day when I phoned I probably didn't have a lot of competition!! (It might have been a different outcome if I had been told to use Email only.)
Thought this feed back might help.0
