My hard work has also paid of i've managed to secure 3 part time jobs totalling 40 hours. Had an interview at matalan today and start monday 10 hours per week, gone from no job to 3 hope I don't get the other one I applied for.

Wahey, that's great news. You might end up with 3 full time job offers, who knows.

Great news for everyone who have had job offers this week, seems to be a winning streak going at the moment!

I have applied for about 10 jobs in the last two days but for some reason it's left me feeling more despondent than ever. I think it's the ever mounting financial worries coupled with the period of unemployment dragging out much longer than I had hoped (although always realistically thought could happen).

I'm going to have to fall into arrears with a couple of creditors just to keep feeding myself and I was trying to avoid that.

Really hope I get at least one interview in the next few days!

    Sounds pretty grim.

Re: your creditors, just make sure you keep paying them something, whatever little you can afford, and when things pick up (which they will) you can increase the payments, just send them a letter explaining your current situation, don't do a 'hide under the duvet' it will just make matters worse, and the last thing you want when you're feeling like carp is a load of threatening letters on your doorstep in the morning.

Hope things pick up for you soon.

I am soooooo jealous of you all...

if I don't get the cash office job in 10 days then I don't know where to go next. Things seem to be getting worse round here.

Also getting annoyed with a firm called 'Personal Career Solutions' who have e-mailed 3 times telling me to book an appointment with them. A little googling reveals they would then try to sign you up for a £4,500 service. ..I don't have £4.50

    Hi guys,

Just thought I'd give a quick update on the interview I had today. The interviewer was extremely unorganised - She didn't ask me any standard questions or any competency based questions at all. She just sat there reading my CV and telling me what the company did (which I already knew as had researched!) Was rather strange - feels like I missed the opportunity to sell myself properly.....

Anyway, congratulations to all those with job offers and interviews lined up! :T

    Evening all,
thought I'd just check in and see how everyone is doing and update on moi!

I've been in college all week for the last week before summer -'Audit week', it's been a laugh a minute, tests, tests, action plans, tests...last day tomorrow anywho.

Not got a whole lot of job hunting done this week, though I've looked on directgov every day and got the local newspaper on jobs day. Have succeeded in finding 1 job to apply for...

I have my interview with ASDA on Saturday at 4.30pm, which could be interesting as I'm playing with the samba group I joined 3 weeks ago at 2.30pm at the town gala and it's forecast to chuck it down! Am hoping I'll have enough time to get home and changed and to the interview without getting too stressed out.

    Have a good friday everyone!

I'm not very good at succinct. Why say something in 10 words when 100 will do?

  • Congratulations to everyone getting jobs - I'm really pleased for you all, although I am also very jealous as I seem to be going nowhere. I attended an NHS recruitment day for some admin jobs yesterday and there were so many people there I don't think I stand a chance which is a shame but I did apply for two jobs. Other than that its been really slow on the jobs front this week.
