So, now I have two job offers

    1. Full time on £12.5k (minimum wage), no other benefits.
    2. 11am - 5pm each day on £15.5k pro rata, sick pay, healthcare, etc.

Money works out to be roughly the same each month but with option 2 I have to pay out around £60 in travelling which I don't have with option 1. Oh I just don't know what to do! I'm supposed to be starting the first one on Monday!

Well done you!!! :T the second one sounds good to me but it's your decision

I want my turn to hurry up now, so many on here are now employed.
    Saved: £1566.53/ £2000

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Can I have the one you don't take???

Well done! I think you have to ask yourself if the benfits of sick pay and health care in the second one be worth more to you than not having travelling expenses in the first job.

Started a new job today. What a breeze, a payroll department full of wee old ladies drinking coffee all day. I worked for about 2 hours, and I was the youngest there (thought those days had long gone!)

Not quite what I'm used to having spent the last few years working in hotel finance!

Got a couple of interviews lined up in hotels, so need to decide if I want the easy life or not.

#2 description implies they treat employees well and i know its a bit less + travel but that is more than made up for by the perks IMO. Whatever i suggest you go with your gut feeling.

Very well done on getting two offers at once you really do deserve it.

Yes, I am big fan of going with gut instincts, it's never failed me before! (And well done Drea for getting two offers)

4 interviews down, 0 to go! The interview today went well, I think I impressed them with my organisational skills when I was talking about all the spreadsheets I do for my own personal budget. One of the first things I mentioned was that I studied Psychology at university which gave me an understanding of research methods (the role is an admin one in a research group) and she said that was a good start, so I took from that that not many other people they interviewed had that advantage. I was the last person interviewed as well, which I'm hoping will go in my favour as I'll stick in their minds.
But as with all jobs, you just never know who your competition is so I'm trying not to get my hopes up about it.

I had a missed from the recruitment agency I got my job through, I was a bit worried that she hadn't been able to get hold of my reference, but she was actually just ringing to say that she'd had my reference back and my manager had written about two paragraphs basically singing my praises. I received that call just before my interview, so may have boosted my confidence a bit!

I had a rejection e-mail from the interview I attended on Tuesday, but I wasn't really expecting to get that so wasn't too fussed, although I would have liked to have got the job.

Still working on getting my JSA though! I have to collect a form from the centre I did my course at to confirm hours etc then take it in to the Jobcentre on Monday. I am writing a massive letter of complaint about it all though. My last job was working for the Jobcentre so you'd think I'd understand where they're coming from, but I don't. I know I certainly gave a lot better customer service than I have received!!!!!

Okay, decision is made, I'm going for option 2. Which means I have another week before I start :) it actually ends up being quite a bit less but far better prospects than going into a dead end job!

Well I've had an email from the agency dealing with Amazon's recruitment and they've asked me to fill in their standard "more info" form :) Fingers crossed they ask me for an interview, the odds are significantly better than usual, they're looking to fill 900 positions..........

Ooh good luck. What kind of positions are they? 900 is a huge amount!

I think you have made the right choice, ok so it's not as much money but if you genuinely think it's a better job then its much better to take the hit now and build up for the future :)

Have you been able to let job number one know you won't be starting on Monday?

No :( I feel really bad because now it's just going to be a phonecall on the day I'm supposed to be there!
