Went signing on yesterday after passing the Gestapo(show me your pass:mad:) yes i know where the frick I have to go and sign on by now,my patronising advisor said my cv was crap as I used a different Font and how important it was to use one he liked !!!!!!?
He also said he'd expected me to have a job by now so I pointed out that most employers round here use the 3 F's rule...eh never heard of that one he says whats that......Fat,Forty and Fricked.

Oh and not heard from the job I went for last Friday, not a smegging letter, phone call or email so thats a no then.

Really really peeved off with the whole look for a job, find one, apply, get your hopes up,go for interview if your lucky and then get ignored.

Off to get drunk and I've not drank a single beer in 20 years.

Hello everyone, haven't had time to keep up with the thread :(

The jitters I am experiencing in my new job are unexpected in all ways. The tidal wave of destroyed confidence I felt after three days was a knockover, a tidal wave of unjustified thoughts, things I haven't done, things I would never do.

I miss my recruiters, I miss looking, I miss the sheer opportunity of job seeking, the what next.

I have aced it, friends who look at my still in disbelief, "you?" It's just a mid management job at a corporate dear!

I lucked out, right place, right time, please don't forget that, it took a year of hard work to luck out. I failed upwards.

    Work critique:
Todays outfit: horrifically exclusive skinny blue jeans got from charity shop (Gap test version), pink proper work shirt (complicated designer version, can look pyjamaish), cheap throw on grey blazer: FAIL
Handover process: They don't know and nor do I = land grab
Ability to not run away screaming: Questionable

    Much love.

BTW, I made a big effort to go to my nice advisor at the JC and thank him. He was thrilled.

All the best November, its is great to hear from you. So glad you thanked your advisor, thats a really nice thing to do.

Finally going to do maths and english with learn direct and hopefully i can get them done and dusted and put them on the cv

Well done, good luck with the courses. I also signed up for a course today in my primary skills. When the question comes up what will you be doing in X years, you can include it in your answer as an achievable goal that you have already started to do something about

Hi all. I haven't been around much this week as I'm so fed up and down in the dumps with it all. I made the mistake of convincing myself that being as I had all the right experience for the last interview I had that I was going to get the job then last Thursday, after a nice day out, I came home to the thanks but no thanks letter and have cried at some point every day since then. To cap it all I have no voluntary work today as they have had a burst pipe outside and have no water.

I think I've finally managed to perk myself up a bit today and am determined to go a whole day today without crying.

I went to sign on on Monday and luckily for the security guard it was the only nice one on duty. If it had been any of the others I might have let rip as I was in such a bad mood!

By the way alcohol doesn't work for me. I suffer from balance problems so one drink and I'm falling over and I don't get any of the benefits - now chocolate, that's different!!!

Please don't give up all hope on this one just yet. It seems that employers are taking an absolute age in committing themselves to taking on staff at the moment.
    They...........just............can't...........quite............bring..........themselves.........to...... make..........a..........decision......

My husband had a second interview a month ago tomorrow. He was told there would be a follow-up between the agency and the employer on the following Monday so we spent all fhe followingTuesday getting more and more despondent when the phone didn't ring.

Four weeks later my husband is still calling the agency, the bloke there is really embarrassed as he has 3 jobs and several candidates who have been seen, that they haven't made a decision about yet. It's their financial year end at the end of July and they are dithering because of that (so they say). We did at first think the job had gone to somebody else, but given the length of time that has now passed, we do actually believe the agency bloke.

No bloody use of course in providing husband with work, but at least we know the job hasn't gone to somebody else yet.

I agree with this the job that I have just been offered was one that I applied for at the beginning of May!

Positively recent by comparison with my husband's saga - he applied for the job in February!
