I've always assumed that the closing date is the last day they will accept applications. I had one that closed last Friday but I managed to get it in for Thursday. There is nothing better in life than writing on the sole of your slipper with a biro.....0

Well I have just got back from shopping with my daughter and had a missed call from the interview that I had on Friday asking me to go in for a "favourable second interview" tomorrow. I wasn't too sure what that meant but when I asked how many other candidates they had recalled the HR woman said that as far as she was aware it was just me! Hopefully I just need to turn on the charm and cross my fingers!
Ohh that sounds positive! Good luck!good luck for the interviews tomorrow and friday...

Good luck Livermum!
Most of the interviews I've had have been with one or two people - only had one with three interviewers as far as I can remember.0 -

Hi all, I really hope you don't mind me jumping in on your thread. I've been reading it for a couple of weeks now and it's quite re-assuring to see you all seem to feel how I did while unemployed last year.
Basically, I was unemployed for around 6 months last year before accepting a part-time (16 hours) fixed term contract in the area in which I studied. My fixed term contract is coming to an end soon and I'm currently awaiting a decision on whether or not I will be kept on any longer or not
So, I'm begrudgingly dipping my toes back into jobseeking, made all the worse as for the first time ever I have a job I really enjoy. And even though it's only part-time the pay is extremely good for the hours I do and the opportunity for overtime is there regularly.
Anyway, I also just wanted to give a little bit of hope for those of you who have had interviews in which you didn't get the job. I had an interview last year for a job, which to be honest I didn't really have the necessary experience for but my name was put forward by a family friend, which I didn't get and got the old "we'll keep your CV on file" line. Well, they actually called me last week saying they still had my CV on file and had a job in the area I studied (so something actually suitable!) and would I be interested in my CV being put forward for it. Of course I have said yes, but it just goes to show not all employers are spinning a line when they say this!
Good Luck to you all0 -
Well I now have a job, starting next Tuesday
Very pleased, but it's only p/t time temporary so I'll still be applying for full-time work when I get the chance! It's also not really in an area I'm interested in, but it'll be something to put on the CV at least.
I phoned the Jobcentre about my JSA, they still are giving me conflicting information about who's making the decision on my claim and what stage it's at. Think I will phone back again tomorrow to see if there's any updates and emphasise that I need paying before starting my new job as I'll be needing to pay for petrol and lunches etc.0 -

I means it has to be in on Friday, so if you're e-mailing it no problem, but if you're posting it they won't receive it on time.0
