I had success with my interview subject to references after applying for a ton of jobs over 3 weeks. Good luck to everyone else you will get there.

    You will be fine.

I think I'll panic when I finally get an interview though, it's been a long time!

    EEEEK me too! Interview Friday!
  • Congratulations to everyone with an interview. I'm looking for some part-time work as I run my own online business. It's been very difficult to say the least. I'm applying for approx. 20+ jobs every week.

I'm having a good cry right now. I'm SO fed up. I STILL haven't heard from BHS about an interview I had 3 weeks ago. Think I'll chase them up again.

Had an interview at Next this morning and think I can safely say I didn't get it, was told I'd know by Wednesday but a friend had an interview this afternoon and has got a job!! It's SO unfair. She only needs it for the Summer til September.

Also had my long hair cut short and HATE it.

    Rant over :(

  • Fed up today.

Still waiting to hear if I was sucessful for the job I went for last Friday and I've had to sit in all day waiting for a guy to come and fix the boiler was supposed to be here at 8.30 still hadn't shown at 3 p.m just about to go on the phone and give them an abusive phone call and he turned up! Good job I wasn't working and had to take the morning off!

Oh and had to re do my CV as the advisor at the jobcentre wants to see it when I go and sign on Wednesday...soon gets round to that horrible moment.

Nothing much on any of the websites I visit to apply for either.
Need a good walk tomorrow to clear the cobwebs and motivate myself again.

I agree with those who said they'd miss the time for exercising if they found a job, I'm the same, I have got myself into a good routine I'd hate to ruin it by having to work! Also being using the Wii Fit a lot, which I can only use in the day when my parents are out.

Today I had my first interview of 4 this week. It was originally 3, but I got a call today about another one on Weds, so now I only have Thursday off (which I'll be using to prepare for my interview on Friday). I think it went well, but you just never know if there's someone better than you. There was a short test beforehand, one was on Excel and the other was putting a list of tasks into order of priority. They told I got the right order so it's good to know I at least did well on the test.

I came up with a new interview challenge yesterday. I come up with about 4-5 words or phrases that I think would make me sound good in an interview then challenge myself to use them all. For example, for the interview I had today for a higher education position, one of my phrases was 'widening participation', which I managed to use, but I didn't get to use the others!

Got myself a new shirt for my interview tomorrow, as I didn't realise til this morning that the ones I already have are too big for me! I find it difficult finding shirts as the sleeves are always too long, and I have a tattoo on my wrist so need to wear long sleeves.

I then went to a volunteer roadshow, and have given my details to a local charity that offers support/ advice to disable people, so I feel I've had a productive day. Plus off to zumba later!

On a downside though, I have now been claiming JSA for two months and they still have yet to pay me :(

:( That's too bad. I hate it when employers don't bother contacting you. Why do you think you didn't get the Next job??

The same thing happened to me. I was told at the job centre that there is a huge backlog at the processing centre but I gave them a ring and my payments started within a week!
