Rejection just feels harder instead of easier. I've never known anything but debt and poverty. Never had anything I wanted in life come right. I'm just struggling to see the point in carrying on right now. No one wants to hire me or be with me or give me any kind of chance, I have no point.
Oh Saturnalia, you sound so down, I'm sorry. It seems very unfair to not even give you an interview and to pick someone purely from their CV. Was that through an agency?
I know where you're coming from with it seeming like nothing ever goes right, but the way I see it (well, try to see it) is that some day things have got to start getting better. It's just when it's going to happen!
Don't give up :-)

I'm not very good at succinct. Why say something in 10 words when 100 will do?

Sorry to hear that Saturnalia but it does sound all rather odd to me. Who these days takes someone on on the basis of just a CV? You may well be better off out of there!
The rejection is awful and I totally know what it's like but don't give up. Have a cry if you feel you need to or eat your bodyweight in crisps or chocolate (it works for me!) and then continue to head onwards and upwards. You can show these people!!0 -
Hiya Nessi,
If these are the kind of questions that keep coming up, it would be a good idea to write some of them down and come up with good answers for them beforehand, I'm sure there's websites that give you example answers for that kind of question.
Good luck,
Kimberley x
Hi Kimberley
Yeah, there are websites with example questions on and they're really useful, I'm just struggling to come up with real examples of when I've shown this and that. It doesn't help that my confidence is really starting to go downhill .. I'm definitely going to have to do some work between now and Friday and be ready for whatever they're going to throw at me!0 -
It's difficult Saturnalia, but the rejection has nothing to do with you or your skills, you were short listed and they wanted to interview you, that is the good news, it shows you are of value, they wanted to see you. They thought you were qualified.
It stings until something better comes along, which it invariably does.
Congratulate yourself a bit!0 -
I'm feeling down today, I not had so much as an interview in about 3 months. Think I'm going to go register with some agencies I have been avoiding tomorrow and see what they can offer. Has nearly been 9 months eeek and no sign of the end yet0

I am so glad it is not just me. Reading this topic can sometimes get me down hearing about everyone with interviews.
I had an interview early May for Next, but before then my last interview was early March.0 -

I know it seems hard to believe, but something will come along eventually. You have sunk into a depression and that makes you look negatively on everything, your whole life. I'm sorry to hear that you are feeling so bad. Lots of hugs, B xx0 -
Well the manager from the place that I had an interview with two weeks ago has just called to say that at the minute they are struggling to free up the money to take on a new staff member (well why interview for it then), she did say that she will get back to me asap but as I wasn't overly fussed over the job anyway I can't say I'm that bothered to be honest!
On a plus note I have got an interview on Friday for a better job in a better location! YAY!0 -
I've had 2 jobs I applied for get back to me and say they don't have the money anymore for the position, is very annoying!
I had a phone call about some work experience the job centre might have for me, problem is with that I might lose my voluntary work if it's too long of a placement. Will have to find out more details tomorrow.0
