Firefly this waiting to hear is a horrible part of looking for a job. I won't hear for a couple of days! At least you have had some NHS experience, I really feel if someone goes in today already in NHS or experienced in that field they will get the job.

Anyway we tried our bests. Good luck hope you get it.

Always feels a waste of time doesn't it. Suppose we can't complain too much when they pay us :rotfl:

I feel the same way as well, especially when they don't even bother to look at my book. Takes up valuable time I could be spending actually looking for a job!

Anyway, I got invited to an interview today at Bham Uni. I'm so pleased as I've applied for quite a few there and this is the first application that's actually been successful. It's not til June 6th though so I've got plenty of time to prepare!

    Morning all

I'm back from a nice relaxing weekend. I want to go back!

Got this email from the NHS Job

"Unfortunately due to the changes happening within the NHS we are now not able to offer this role at full-time capacity. We will be reviewing our needs in September with a view to employing a part-time office assistant"

:( No word from the Call Centre position, I am seriously considering going back to my old job :(

I'm in a bit of a dilemma this morning, I have an interview this afternoon, the job is about an hour and a half away, as the hours are full time I think that it may cause me problems with childcare in the long run. If the job was closer it would be perfect but the location is causing me a bit of a headache. I don't know what to do. My main concern is that if I do not go to the interview then nothing better may come along!

    Hope the interview went well!
When my siblings and I were at school, we were usually collected by one of our friends' parents who would look after us until ours got home - could this be an option - maybe in exchange for babysitting at other times?

New vacancy - large salary, media attention, working with high profile individuals, involves working weekends and evenings -
Manager of Chelsea FC :footie: - anyone interested?
    NB No job security!

One rejection letter, one new position an agency are putting me forward for. I think that balances out.
Still no news on my previous interview and the one for this week has been postponed.

Hope you feel better soon Drea.

Fingers crossed for your reference Strike.

Good luck to everyone this week!
  • Only been job hunting for a few weeks and it's getting me down.

Fed up of filling in forms and not hearing anything back, seems that once they see that I've ticked the have you a disability, I've had it.

Even when I applied for a job recently with a disabled charity that says that they `favour` people with an illness and one that I could do as I have 23 years experience in I've still not even had an acknowledgement.

So much for the goverment wanting people off DLA and ESA, and back into work.Where are the jobs????

I doubt it's because of your disability, unfortunately your very lucky if you ever hear back from applications. I've filled in over 50 since January and could count on one hand the number of replies I've had so don't feel too down about it

    Hi Guys

I've only just found this forum even though I've been out of work for 7 weeks now. It's good to hear from other people going through the same worries and emotions. I've only got one other friend who has experience of what I'm going through and the others have absolutely no idea (lucky them!!).

Like others on here I feel guilty when I'm not on the PC looking over and over at the same ads. Sometimes I feel quite positive but other times I feel really, really panicky about it all (feeling quite panicky right now tbh).

Anyway, I'm looking forward to logging onto the forum every day, hearing of the success stories and getting and giving support until my own success story comes along.

    Hi Nessi,

Welcome to the thread, you'll find everybody here very friendly and understanding of the situation you're in.

Does anybody else find it difficult to believe the government jobless statistics when we see so many new people joining our thread.

I hope there is some good luck out there for you all this week.

    Hey, welcome to MSE!

I went through positive and panicky. Now I seem to be blue and de-motivated ;)

We'll all have something turn up sooner or later :)
