  • My husband has just said he's trying a new tactic. He is now calling the recruitment consultant before sending his CV. He just called one who told him that the job advertised was actually at offer stage.

This has made me so angry. Why are they advertising jobs which have as good as already gone? He could have wasted two hours tailoring his CV for nothing. AAARRGGGHHH!!!! I hate recruitment consultants!!!!

Thanks for the motivation everyone - I've now registered on jobsite and found a few things to apply for.

I dragged myself out this morning and went for a swim, feeling far more productive and upbeat now - thanks for the posts a few days ago about exercising - gave me the momentum to leave the house!

Just had an email from Evolution - anyone heard of them? Apparently they have been notified by Jobsite that I'm looking for a job and want me to give them some details...

Just googled them and got a link back to the MSE Forum - Evolution Jobs - not really recommended.

Checked out their website as well but I don't think they will be much use to me!

(I tried to include the link but was blocked cos I'm a new user - despite the fact that it was linking back to the forum :rotfl:)
  • Most of the websites are a waste of time for me as I'm a numb nut who just wants some sort of crappy manual type job, sweeping up,cleaning, delivering boxes, trolley pusher, factory line, sign me up !!
But even these jobs are rarer than Cameron not being an evil android.

Well had the interview - really don't know how it went but I wish I didn't turn into a nervous wreck every single time.

Would be a great job - basically running the Centre after the full time staff have gone home in the evenings...certainly something useful to put on the CV!!!

Have been on my Princes Trust course today, absolutely knackered, got another 3 days of it ;)

My second interview is tomorrow and I'm worried I've already messed it up. They sent me a "test" which I was to log into and do, I was getting all the Excel questions wrong! It doesn't let you stop once you have started or go onto any other screen (to stop cheating I suppose) but I got so upset with myself I just shut it down. Then had to spend today telling them that my computer froze. The excel part was ridiculous, asking things you just never need to do in any job. I have done exactly the same job for exactly the same industry yet this test might wreck my chances! I'll be so embarrassed tomorrow.

Well I started a job app form and now can't log back into it for whatever reason so I've given up. Got an email about a job saying they had had insane interest in it and I wasn't successful, I haven't had an interview in months but on the good side I have found out I can do my distance learning IT Course for free so just sending off the bits :)

Has anybody seen those job ads that say some along the lines of "Tired of watching Jeremy Kyle all day...sick of flicking through the channels and all that's on is Jeremy Kyle...."

I've seen it on a few different job sites, and I find it really insulting. Just because I'm unemployed doesn't mean I sit around watching Jeremy Kyle all day!

I think it is more a reflection of the lack of imagination of the scriptwriter. Will seek out this job advert now and see if I can complain about it to someone:D

Drea I wouldn't worry about the test too much, they obviously like you and you are obviously very good at what you do. I'm sure that if you had problems with it then so did the others. Maybe you could try and work the fact that you are willing to learn any of the things that they deem to be important that you don't already know into your interview.

There was nothing for me to apply for today but I am getting excited about my interview next week, the only problem is that I can't remember the hours or the pay as it has been so long since I applied!
