;43477698]Got an interview for a job based locally but interview is in London. Since train is going to cost me over £100 is it usual that the company will pay my expenses for this? £100 is a lot when you dont have a job...
Definitely worth checking with the company to find out what their policy is before you commit to spending that much money.I dropped in the app form at the Range but the closing date isn't till June, so I hope they're not waiting till then to interview etc!
I had a fun afternoon rating the quality of video clips in 3 x 20 minute sessions, now to enjoy the sunshine! (no thunder here... yet).0 -

kittens, bet they keep you occupied, well when they're awake0 -

I replied on your thread about maybe being able to get this paid for by the Job Centre. Speak to them in advance though - I'm not sure if they would pay back expenses without prior authorisation.
Big companies usually offer travel expenses for specialised/graduate roles. If the job is for a smaller company, if there are lots of other candidates and/or the advertised salary isn't great, you're less likely to be reimbursed by the company.0 -
Congratulations to ellanutella on finding a job!:)
Haven't posted here in a while because I haven't found anything new to apply for, but I have a really important exam tomorrow, that if I pass, will open up loads more jobs. I'm really well prepared for it, but still incredibly nervous. I think being unemployed knocks your confidence, but I'm trying to get past that.
My second interview is in a week's time - I feel like I've been waiting for it to come round for ages! Hope your second interview goes well, Drea:) Maybe we'll both land jobs this fortnight!
This could be a really great month for me... or a really awful one. Am keeping all fingers and toes crossed!0 -

They certainly do. It's like Muldoon's picnic in here! Right now all is calm as they are feeding, but that's just them fuelling up for the next rampage!
I don't think chaos has ever been so adorable though.
I'll have to learn how to post pics on here, kitten posts are nothing without pictures.
It's worked out quite well me being jobless for the moment as I can spend time with them all, I think their mum would deal with them fine (she's a great Mamma Cat) but I get nervous about leaving them for any length of time. But I'll need to get back into work quickly to pay for all the cat food, jabs, etc! I joke that we should get the CSA on Dadda Cat!Public appearances now involve clothing. Sorry, it's part of my bail conditions.0 -
Presentation day!

Feel a bit sick.
These are the guys who said I seemed nervous last time (when I didn't feel nervous).
Ah well. Wearing lilac jeans and red & white smart shirt, with the discreet annoying tiny pollen stain on the collar.0 -

Morning everybody!
Done my first pass on the Directgov site for today,.......same jobs as normal... all ones I can't do or temp with 10 hours only. etc..sigh.
Feeling depressed this morning at this rate I'm going to struggle putting anything on the "what have you done to look for work you bone idle waster" sheet.
Need a walk and some fresh air.
Maybe it will invigorate me for the afternoon trawl through all the thousands of jobs on Reed,Monster etc.:("Life is short even in its longest days".0 -
Good Morning,
Feel much better today than I have over the past few days! I have been feeling really fed up as nothing seemed to be happening.
But, I have just had a phone call for a job that I applied for months ago and have an interview next Friday. Its for a really good company and I think it would be really good for me!0
