I got covered in bites this weekend and they have exploded into huge lumps so off down the Docs I toddle later I am going to beg them for something stronger than chemist stuff as I am on FIRE! :snow_laug

I got this response to the great job I applied for

    Recruitment Assistant

Further to your recent application for the above position, I regret to inform you that following a review of our budgets we have had to withdraw the vacancy. Should this change in the future we will contact you again.

2nd one in the last month that has happened with, I have half of a Bank Job app to fill out too before Wednesday but might do a bit today, bit tomorrow. Off to check for jobs now :)

    Good luck Drea!

Lexilex, if the brothers have decided they need to match and the cheaper suit isn't good enough for them, could your OH ask them if they could help him out? Or offer to trade a few quid for the suit for some babysitting hours, housework, whatever they might need?

Nimbo, I'm bored too. Got 5 1-month-old kittens here who are endlessly fascinating as they have just learnt to climb out of their box and explore the living room, but they have hardly been awake so far today!
Public appearances now involve clothing. Sorry, it's part of my bail conditions.

I'm back from signing. I don't know what I was worried about - the advisor never even read my diary.

Anyway good luck everyone for this week - fingers crossed we all get jobs.

    Good Afternoon!

After my negative comments at the weekend I am happy to report I have a job! Got the job at the opticians after all :) The negative side of me thinks they might have offered it to someone else first and got turned down but who cares, now I've got it! I'm determined to stick it out for at least a year as my CV is starting to look a bit gappy. It's not my dream job and in a way I was a bit miffed to be in exactly the same position as I was a year ago but having seen how hard it is to get any job I'm definitely not complaining any more and will certainly not take it for granted.

Good luck everyone. This thread has been so useful, keeping up my motivation and somewhere to let off steam, I hope everyone has some good news soon :D

Same here and I hate thunder :(

Newbie to the thread here. Been unemployed since end of March and hating it. Have had a total of 2 job interviews so far and obviously unsuccessful with both. I'm not finding agencies very useful at the moment - anyone else finding this?

Agencies are coming through for me now and then. I still hate them ;)
