I discovered there's a weekend position going at my local Range, so I went in to pick a form up (specified on ad no phonecalls, no email, must collect a form in person). Filling it in now, trying to think of interesting things to say in the 'why do you want to work for us?' box.:heartpulsSpoiling my two baby girls with love - it's free and it's fun!:heartpuls
I'm not very good at succinct. Why say something in 10 words when 100 will do?

You should be very proud for establishing this forum, good luck with the interview0

Trying to follow everyone's example today and get over yesterday's rejection. Quck trawl through the news tells me that
a) Being without the job is not that important, compared to the plight of those who make the headlines. A japanese kid on BBc video stating that he had lost some of his schoolfriends gave me a reality check on my situation and unlike me, he wasnt sorry for himself
b) Companies can make wrong decisions, as shown on the BBC, if they can get a product wrong such as coke, persil and the mini then they can certainly make mistakes on recruitment
c) Life is too short, there are people around my age who have died unexpectantly in the news today. Rather than being at work, I am admiring the flowers outside as I type
Going to do some presentations on my stars (situation, task, action, result) today before I forget what I have done at work. Hopefully by drawing pretty pictures it will stick in my brain when I get an interview0 -
Morning Everybody!
Hope everybody had a great weekend,I had my granddaughters christening yesterday,it was good catching up with family and friends and not having to think aboutjob hunting for once.
But it's Monday and a new week, hope this is the week when us job seekers secure a job."Life is short even in its longest days".0 -
Well here goes the start of another week...hopefully this will be the week I find a job!!
I've got an interview on Wednesday afternoon. I've applied for jobs with this organisation twice now and both times have made it to the second interview only to get a phonecall the following day saying I'd been 'pipped to the post'. Maybe it'll be third time lucky. The salary isn't great and is 7k less than my previous job but I figure if I'm offered it I'll take it and then concentrate on looking specifically for jobs that have a better salary that are in a field I want.
I hope everyone else has a great week...fingers crossed for us all.0 -

That's a great idea, I am surprised at some of the things I forgot!
Good luck to everyone this week.
I have a second round interview tomorrow and have most of the powerpoint presentation done. It was easier this time (remember last time I didn't have a clue). As I am unsure about the job I am really pushing to get as many interested companies and interviews as possible, this week, so hopefully I will be very busy.
What gets tricky is prepping for different companies, sometimes I have felt I have interviewed with my prep for one company while at another... particularly in personality, go getting or demure...0 -

When I started my last job, I decided I was going to keep a journal of things I'd done every day that I could use in interview situations. Now that I'm jobhunting again, I wish I'd kept it up for more than a week!0 -
No interviews lined up at the moment, but waiting to hear on a few bits and pieces.
Going to do an hour's work this afternoon, so that's something to get me out of the house.
Also have to get motivated to clean - my parents are visiting this weekend and will be meeting the other half's parents for the first time.
Need distractions!!!0 -
Stood outside where my interview is and suddenly got nervous! Feel a bit sick in fact. Not felt this nervous for a while! Big breath, and in I go.Just because you made a mistake doesn't mean you are a mistake.0

In the words of the song "tell me why I don't like Mondays" - because its signing on day and I hate signing on more than anything! I'm due at the job centre at 1.15pm. I hope they don't tell me off for not applying for many jobs in the past few weeks - there just hasn't been any.
Drea I had a thought yesterday. Do you include setting up this forum as an achievement when applying for jobs/at interviews? If not you should as its the only place where there are people that understand how up and down I feel. It can be very isolating being unemployed and I've had a lot of support from people on here so many thanks to you all. Good luck at the interview.0
