Good morning all, just been catching up on the posts.
Hope everybody has had a great bank holiday! Back to normality today though
I've applied for 6 jobs over the past 11 days which is more than I was expecting considering all the bank holidays. I had an interview at Next over the weekend which was a bit strange. It was a group interview with 4 of us which I have never had before. Not sure I liked it as I didn't get much chance to chat but it was a good opportunity to see our others came across in interviews. Then I had to do about 20 minutes on the shop floor, the first ten minutes on one of the clothing departments and the rest of the time was spent greeting customers. It was very strange because I have never worked in a store before in my life, and I had no badge on so I looked like some weirdo asking if customers needed any help :rotfl:. I'm supposed to hear back tomorrow, but I'm not too fussed either way to be honest. It's only a temp contract til July, not sure of the hours (was advertised as 'various') but I would need a minimum of 10/15 really because it is NMW.
Today I HAVE to finish an application form I started about two weeks ago. I normally do them straight away but this was in written and so long winded, and the closing date isn't for another fortnight. Need to get it done before all these new jobs get posted today. I wish!

Good Morning everybody.
Glad all the bank holidays are over with even if it was nice having the wife off yesterday.
Hopefully there will be some more jobs advertised now most of the bank holidays are finished, where are all these manual labour jobs that nobody wants to do?
I'd gladly take a job shoving trolleys round the local Asda at the moment.

Big interview today, I am not as prepped as usual, no written notes, just winging it. There should be enough in my brain to get through I hope0

Morning All!
November good luck with the interview today hope it goes well for you.
Really hoping that there are some new jobs to apply for this week, I'm getting really fed up of seeing the same jobs over and over again!
A few of the jobs that I have applied for over the past few weeks finish this week so hopefully I will here something from them this week.0 -

Wishing you lots of luck!:heartpulsSpoiling my two baby girls with love - it's free and it's fun!:heartpuls
I'm not very good at succinct. Why say something in 10 words when 100 will do?

I know how you feel, but it's important to get your NI sorted out now to make sure you don't lose entitlement to your state pension in later years. Plus, if you're entitled to any money, making a claim for it will help take pressure off your wife. It's not a lot of cash, but when you go from two salaries down to one, a couple of extra hundred quid a money is really felt.
Best of luck to everyone with their search today, in particular November5th. Hope the interview goes well.0 -
Morning all. I've done the shopping, been to the library (which I've been using a lot recently - its free!!!) and I'm now waiting for lots of lovely new job vacancies to be posted that I can apply for (can you tell I'm trying to be positive). I really need to find some more jobs to apply for before next week when I'm due to sign on again - don't want to get told off for not trying hard enough!
Good luck at your interview November5th. I wouldn't worry about not preparing too much. I used to work in HR and the advisors who did the interviewing said that you can be overprepared for interviews and they could always tell when someone had worked out answers to all possible questions. Winging it shows you can think on your feet!
Good luck everyone else with your searches - fingers crossed.
PS Is there any point in a fat, overweight person applying for a receptionist at a fitness centre? I'm debating whether to or not!0 -

Good luck today. I applied at a fitness club / spa many years ago, where you had to be a super model to hand out towels (didn't get it:)). However, I would feel far more comfortable with a normal receptionist and not super woman. So apply!0 -
Well I'm feeling pretty fed up today. My OH was off work for 10 days and went back today leaving me home alone. It was great while she was off as instead of feeling unemployed I just felt like we were having holiday time together.
I've applied for 5 jobs over the last 3 weeks and was hoping to have heard from at least one by now but sadly my inbox is empty. I know I need to pull myself together but right now I feel stuck in a rut not knowing what I should be doing with my life.
Sorry to moan, I know it doesn't help anyone else in the same situation. Good Luck to those with interviews this week...I have got my fingers crossed for you0 -
Not finding a whole lot to apply for and this is the first time I'll be struggling to get my 6 in the fortnight
still, some of that was due to doing my temp work last week.
I've got all my hopes on my interview on Monday.Just because you made a mistake doesn't mean you are a mistake.0
