Morning all,
no jobs here to apply for - and have seen a load on-line that I have applied for in the past still there, just getting more applicants.... ho hum.
been a horrid day. I have just been to the doctors and been given 3 prescriptions for 5 things that i can't afford, and i don't have my exeption certificate through because the council seem to be taking forever. I made the mistake of calling them while out, and they made me cry (probably that time of the month coming...) and then to top it all off while in town i weighed myself (20 p instead of £5 at slimming world) and even though i have been really good (too skint for chocolate) i thought i had put on 2lbs..... (had in fact lost 4) didn't help with the crying thing though...
How do you all do it? i have been off for 4 weeks and am already so bored and apparently tearful.
I had a horrible day yesterday, a recruiter called and we went through all the usual, she promised a job description which she never sent. It really got to me, it upset me, don't really know why. I went for a long bike ride. I have found that now the weather has brightened I am getting more exercise my 'down' periods are much shorter, I am picking myself up and dusting myself down in a day and not a week, as it was before.
Have had three excellent conversations with recruiters this morning and I am off for another bike ride with a friend, so I turned it around again

It is so quiet on the job front this week! I have managed to find a couple of jobs to apply for yesterday but I haven't managed to find anything today. Hopefully next week things will pick up once all these holidays are over and done with! A job that I applied for a couple of weeks ago closes today. I'm keeping my fingers crossed but trying not to get my hopes up as its a really nice little job so they will probably have had loads of applications!
Anybody got any interviews lined up?0 -
I did have a call earlier offering me an interview for a job id applied for on jobsite but due to the distance i had to decline the interview, the interview was in winchester and the job was as a field merchandiser covering the area below the m4 but she did say she liked my cv and would pass it on to the guy who covers the area where i live plus surrounding areas.0

I got a phone call from the agency saying that I have an interview for that job that is exactly like my old one. It isn't until next Monday though.
Sounds like the perfect job for me, but trying not to get my hopes up!
Oh lexi, I did Go Ape today, the zip wires are the easiest bit! It is so tiring and climbing up a cargo net is not easy. I had a few wobbly moments but managed to do the whole thing in the end. It wasn't terrible, but... never again! :rotfl: Good thing to try but I don't see me wanting to do it again.Just because you made a mistake doesn't mean you are a mistake.0 -
I misread 'Meter Reader' as 'Mind Reader' on the job search results. Good job they don't just want a 'Reader' - I'd be screwed.:heartpulsSpoiling my two baby girls with love - it's free and it's fun!:heartpuls
I'm not very good at succinct. Why say something in 10 words when 100 will do?

I can't find anything with hours to suit. I really need a job that is Mon to Fri 10-2, so it fits in with school hours. My lone parent advisor did tell me jobs with those hours are like hens teeth
I also have the problem that if I manage to find a job in the next few weeks, I am going to have the 6 week summer holidays to contend with as well - I won't have any childcare organised, and wouldn't want to request holidays.

Had my 13 week review this week. Thought i would get a grilling as despite my best efforts ive been unable to find work in this time.
The adviser just changed my travel time from 60 to 90 mins (not sure how i can find a job that will allow me to pay for 90 mins travel each way but ...)
She basically said the weekly signings after 13 weeks are no longer applicable because there arent enough staff and they are streamlining everything. Apparantly there are new initiatives coming soon but the new Govt havent let them know what they are yet.
The adviser checked i had a CV and that i was still doing my voluntary work.
Never asked me what i had been doing to look for work (despite me having a list of companies and jobs i have applied for. She didnt bother doing a jobsearch as they know already there are no jobs i can do that i havent applied for.
Bit pointless really. Just said continue signing as normal.
I was in and out in 10 mins0 -
Oh lucky, I had to go sign on at 13 weeks weekly for about 13 weeks, was so annoying. Is bad enough having to go in there. I think if I wasn't doing voluntary work they would be more on my back! I have not heard a peep from the 6 jobs I applied for over the last few weeks.0
