    Morning all,

no jobs here to apply for - and have seen a load on-line that I have applied for in the past still there, just getting more applicants.... ho hum.

been a horrid day. I have just been to the doctors and been given 3 prescriptions for 5 things that i can't afford, and i don't have my exeption certificate through because the council seem to be taking forever. I made the mistake of calling them while out, and they made me cry (probably that time of the month coming...) and then to top it all off while in town i weighed myself (20 p instead of £5 at slimming world) and even though i have been really good (too skint for chocolate) i thought i had put on 2lbs..... (had in fact lost 4) didn't help with the crying thing though...

How do you all do it? i have been off for 4 weeks and am already so bored and apparently tearful.

Sorry to hear of your bad day, don't forget though if it is that time of the month coming then water retention will add pounds on so don't be down on your weight. Some practitioners say that it can add up to 7lbs on at a time!!!! Cheer up lots of hugs x

I am prepping for two very different jobs today and tomorrow, think my brain will explode!

One is all about my written abilities, I have let myself feel a little overwhelmed by it and have writers block. Best just to get a lot of words on paper, go out then come back to edit.

The second is for an interview Tuesday is a lot of company research and making at least a six month plan to achieve their goals. This really shouldn't feel as daunting as it does.

It's weird, my prep for previous jobs has been pretty good and getting better and better, but I am struggling with these two.

I mean at least I do know what I have to do, and have the resources to hand, just can't get my mojo on!

So, it's two weeks to go until the second round interview for the job I really really want. (Wish the interview was sooner, but it was hard to get the two interviewers together at the same time.) Any tips from anyone who's done a second interview recently? The first interview was really informal, so I'm expecting some harder questions, but beyond that, not sure how to prepare. All I can really come up with is "don't blow it!"

About a week after the interview, I hit my 13 week deadline. As I'm sure you can imagine, this makes me want to get a job offer out of my interview all the more. When I originally signed on, I thought 13 weeks was a pretty fair deadline, so if I can't meet it and get myself another professional job in my line of work by then, it will make me think I've done something seriously wrong.

To everyone doing voluntary work, what are the rules about this? If I can't get a job by the end of the month, I'd love to do some voluntary work to a) stop me going crazy and b) keep my CV current, but how does this affect your JSA? We're just about coping with me on JSA and would really struggle if this got taken away.

Wishing everyone the best of luck for the start of a new week and hopefully more jobs to apply for!

I'm still following both options, looking for a job and setting up freelance.

On the freelance side I've got myself a printer/scanner/photocopier/fax machine combo which we're having a lot of trouble setting up! I've also ordered business cards which I hope get here in time for Thursday because I have a networking event (which I'm terrified of).

On the job side I didn't hear from the company I was temping for to let me know if they needed me this week or not so I'm assuming that means they don't, a bit rude not to get in touch I thought! Still, I have the interview a week today which is exactly what I did in my previous job so I don't see why I should mess that up.
Just because you made a mistake doesn't mean you are a mistake.

I GOT A £275 TAX REBATE! It has officially made my weekend. So much stress off my shoulders.

Voluntary work, the rules are that you can do as much as you want as long as it is flexible so you can attend work/job centre interviews whenever they are made for you even at short notice. And that you don't get paid anything other than expenses, you are allowed to claim back travel expenses, I do. I do 2 voluntary placements, 6 hours a week at a charity shop and 20 hours a week at Citizens Advice Bureau as an Admin. so 26 hours in total and they have no problem with that in the Job Centre, they just give you a form to fill in.

i went for a job interview on saturday. the company had no logo outside it's premises to indentify it's location
and the office (where the interview took place) was nothing more than a glorified shed, complete with refuse bags
on the windows. i can honestly say the best thing about the interview... was me.
that surely, can't be a good sign.

i've been offered 14 hours work this week. though i get the feeling this guy is so small time he will stiff me
    for wages.
i think i'll blow this off and go straight to plan B.

Well i have been looking on line today and applied for two jobs today from the paper on Friday.

I'm not really qualified for one as i don't drive but the job looked so good i though what the hell. haha.

nothing new online but as i sign on tomorrow i though i may as well have a quick peek...

i still have no money but i have cashed the prescriptions they didn't ask to see proof - which was good as i don't have it yet.

thanks to all, and good luck to all of those with interviews lined up.

see you tomorrow - in between applying for all of those jobs that will be pouring in after all these bank holidays....
