  • I'm living at home too and I have an arrangement that I won't get nagged for not paying board if I feed myself. Being a grad they keep throwing me more and more overdraft and cards and loans and I managed to get myself out of £2500 debt after graduating and don't want to get any deeper back in than I already have. May is a mad month, driving test to pay for, hen weekend I had to pay for all on the £200 a month and travel everyday to my voluntary work there is just no money left for food while trying to get myself out of my overdraft as no idea how long they will let me have it before they whack the interest on.

Has it actually only been a couple of days since they interviewed people?

I know you want to hear a yay or nay straight away, but it hasn't been that long. I would wait at least a week before chasing up an answer. I completely understand how horrible the waiting part is, though...

Eek, I not long since sent an e-mail! Just a very brief one, saying thankyou for the interview and it was a pleasure to meet them all, and could I possibly ask when they plan to inform successful applicants.

I'm not very good at succinct. Why say something in 10 words when 100 will do?

Well, it's done now and I'm sure a short polite message isn't going to hurt your chances. :)

I heard from the agency - just to say that they hadn't been able to get in touch with the company to confirm a second interview for next week, due to the relevant people not being around because of the long weekend. It didn't really register for me that there was a long weekend coming up - awful how you lose track of things like that when you're not in work yourself!

I would love to have an interview date firmed up, but realistically I'm not going to hear anything until Tuesday now. More waiting!

Just back from the agency meeting. When I phoned about the job I didn't know many details about it or what industry it's in. Turns out it is pretty much the EXACT same as my last long term job. He's putting me forward for it but says I won't hear back now until after the holidays.

They also did a typing test with me, I got 76 wpm with 99% accuracy, quite proud of that one ;)

Well, I'm off to pack, I'm away caravaning for a couple nights, be good to relax a little!

Well done on the typing test, that's all the typing you do on here that's helped that lol. I'm a fast typer, as it's most of what my job is, but would hate to do a typing test, if I get nervous I can't type fast lol.

  • I managed the challenge my shopping came to £2.65 :rotfl:Can't beat a good bit of Tesco Value 9p pasta. Think I'll have a quick look for jobs tonight and then enjoy the weekend. I'm very lucky because I was due to sign on tomorrow I get to avoid the place for another fortnight!

I think JSA takes 3 days to go in. I sign on Fridays and have to wait until the Wednesday for it to go in

As well as registering with agencies I can see myself handing out cv's to firms on business parks nearby

Thank God for Tesco Value 9p pasta! I've got tons of the stuff as it was too good an offer to miss! I've been having mine with Morrisons 19p pasta sauce mixed with vegetables from the market (I've found that if you go to the market late in the day they reduce everything and you get more for your money).

I've been really busy today - obviously not with jobhunting as there's still nothing about - I've been looked after my two nephews aged 5 years and 7 months while their mum and dad went to a wedding and I am absolutely shattered! We've made Easter bonnets, been fishing in the canal and been to the park. I was happy to do it for nothing but my lovely sister came to pick them up with four bags of food shopping for me. As I live on my own this will last me ages (and there was chocolate in there:j). I can't believe that I got a bit emotional over 4 bags of shopping - that's how bad things have got.
  • I go shopping weekly with my mum and nan and when I turn my back they take stuff out my trolley and put it in theirs lol.My nan always brings me pity steak as well, she did today, I don't complain though lol. I used my voucher for a free innocent drink too, got myself a lovely carton of smoothie to enjoy this weekend :D
