"I wondered if you could let me know when you will be informing successful candidates, or if you could tell me if I have been unsuccessful at this time?'. Basically "Did I get ajob or not!"
I'm totally over-analysing this, I know. Grrrrr.
Has it actually only been a couple of days since they interviewed people?
I know you want to hear a yay or nay straight away, but it hasn't been that long. I would wait at least a week before chasing up an answer. I completely understand how horrible the waiting part is, though...I'm really sorry to hear so many of you are still having a hard time looking for work. Every time I moan to myself about my current temp job I think of all you guys still looking for work and feel guilty.
We're all really pleased you have some money coming in now, Stew, but that doesn't mean we don't understand you're not exactly doing your dream job and do want something more. I hope we all find work soon, but I also hope you manage to find a better job. The fact that you're sticking with something you don't particularly like proves you are committed and hardworking and I really hope it leads to another opportunity. People always say it's easier to find a job when you're in a job - well, I hope you find it easier to find an amazing job whilst in an ok job.0 -
Seems everyone is feeling very fed up today. I have a feeling that we won't be seeing any new jobs over the next couple of weeks with so many bank holidays (then again we've not seen anything new all month really have we?) Guess we'll all just be hoping May turns out betterSaved: £1566.53/ £20000

Phoned an agency about a job they have that yet again they haven't told me about. I'm to go down there to talk about the role in more detail. Surely that is positive? I've never been asked to go back to an agency once I've registered to talk about a role...Just because you made a mistake doesn't mean you are a mistake.0

I've never made a special trip in either - usually they run through roles over the phone and/or email across job specs.
It could be that they have a whole bunch of other roles they want to discuss with you at the same time too?
Fingers crossed something positive will come out of it for you.0 -
Im trying to work out what to wear for my meeting with the heritage centre. It isn't going to be a proper formal interview so I don't want to go suited and booted as I would feel a bit silly, especially since its a voluntary role. But, I don't own any smart-casual type clothes. My normal get up is black jeans and biker boots rocker style and obviously that isnt going to be appropriate either. So I am prob going to have to buy something.
Any thoughts? My mum suggested black trousers and a black blouse but I dunno if that will still be a bit over dressed.'If honour were profitable, every man would be honourable' Thomas More

If you're really really sure that a suit would be inappropriate, a smart pair of trousers and a nice top would be ok. I would veer away from buying both of them in black, though. Maybe a smart pair of black trousers and a more colourful blouse.0 -
Maybe a cardi and casual tshirt combo? I usually go with that at my voluntary position but they all wear jeans even the manager :rotfl:I would say add a bit of colour.0

Afternoon all. I never heard back from the interview I went to last week which means I haven't got it. Getting very fustrated at the moment. I believe getting a job is down to luck at the moment, even if you have relevant experience and came across generally well during the interview.0

Today I set up a meeting with another recruitment agent in the westend for temporary Audio secretary/ typist work. I really truly hope this is a real job. This is after the last couple of days of non stop rejection emails.
The last couple of weeks have just been terrible, to think this part of job hunting for a few months temporary work was suppose to be the easy part, then sit ACA exams then start looking for an accountancy role. I feel I have wasted so much time on job applications, registrations. I'm too am so so sick of scrolling through the same jobs, being re advertised over and over and over again.
I applied to JSA and got a missed call but going to wait until mid next week to call them back, hoping this new agent with actually get me a job. I know I should do it straight away but I really hated going to that job-centre last year, two months was quite enough and highly depressing for me. Have been living on money I earned from the few months work I did last year but my bank balance is now running very low, which is making me very anxious and stressed. And still waiting for my income tax repayment from last tax year, wonder how long before the Job-centre pays the repayments, hopefully this will be within the next couple of weeks.

The last few weeks have been awful. I have never felt so defeated by it all. Money is beyond tight and relying on food donations from my family and Tesco clubcard vouchers. I got £16.50 to spend, looking forward to how far I can stretch it. It needs to cover my whole food for May! Spaghetti on toast it is!0
