Ooh which resort? We went there in 2009! It's loooooovely.
Samana, it's more an "off the beaten track" one. I regretted it once everyone started telling me how awful it is on MSE! Time will tell :rotfl:
Still, it's a luxury hotel in a sunny place, who cares?Just because you made a mistake doesn't mean you are a mistake.0 -
Good Morning All!
We all know what you're going through Twinkle, try not to let it get you down! I send off so many applications that when I do get a reply I often don't even remember what I'm being rejected for! :rotfl:0 -

Not heard of that one. To be honest there's not a lot in Dominican anyway, even the big resorts are purpose build and just full of hotels. Everything is hotel based so you probably won't leave your hotel so it wouldn't matter if the resort was awful. The people are great and the food is to die for, you will have a fab time! If you can scrape together a little bit of money a $1 tip gets you everything!0 -
Woke up today feeling like all the prepping and interviewing and talking about my bloomin' self last week has given me a hangover.
An awful 'oh, I said too much' feeling!
I think you are possibly on dangerous ground when you get a second round informal chat that is about you, and not your skills
So I feel like it's the morning after the night before in job search world.
Got a call from a nice recruiter this morning which always gets me up and at it again.0 -
Well it looks as though I will be self employed from the beginning of May :T which is why I've been popping in and out as I've been looking into all the things I need to do.
Already have 2 organisations that want to use my service and had a long discussion with one yesterday who want me to start on May 4th.
Realistically I don't think I'd have found anything in the short term in the kind of work I was doing and although I was shortlisted for another job I did get rejected for that and it's the only one in my field since I was made redundant.
Quite excited but scary as I've been employed all my life and taking this on when I was looking at retirement on the horizon. Still with the way things are going the horizon is getting further away every day.
The job market is really flat at the moment, I think employers have written April off altogether because of all the holidays, plus school holidays as well. I'm sure it will pick up next month. Best of luck to everyone with their jobhunting.0 -
Well today hasn't been too bad so far...I've sent off 2 applications...one I think I could definitely do. The other is £10k more than my previous job so I'm not holding my breath (I can dream though right?!).
Compared to last week I'm feeling quite positive today...must be the sunshine0 -
Well back to being unemployed, well for about a week! Got 6 days work coming up (over the royal wedding weekend). I just wish my work would be consistent, I want a longer contract as oppose 2 days here 7 days there. At least I'm getting some money in, it's just a nightmare with claiming JSA/Housing Benefit and keep having to declare everything to them or signing off then on. What I need is a solid 2-3 month contract or more and I'll be happy!0
