  • I have an application form to do this weekend for a part time job that will probably be a waste of my time as under experienced and I have no motivation to do it right now. As predicted I woke up this morning with really sore throat, probably another bout of tonsillitis  I think I will save the form until Monday and spend the weekend relaxing :j

Aaaaaaargh such a pain in the butt.

My computer is finally fixed - I just received the text approximately 10 minutes after leaving the shop with no sodding computer... How annoyed am I????? I called yesterday morning to check if it would be sorted by today and they obviously said yes.... Even went so far to say or would be ready by yesterday evening....

I have a paper application to keep me busy - but I have to say I'm not a fan - my writing always looks so messy in those boxes....

I can't believe how bored I am already. I honestly thought being off work for a while would be fun. How wrong could I have been?????

i find doing the form in pencil first then complete it in pen, yes you end up doing it twice but you usually end up making less mistakes and try to keep handwriting neat

Things are getting a bit exciting! I haven't heard from either of the two jobs who pretty much promised me a start on Monday (why do they do that if they don't mean it?!?!) but, my website is bought for my own business, my website header has been made and paid for, I should be going to Birmingham for a networking event (if I can get brave enough to do it) and there is also a monthly network event starting in Cardiff too.

I need to order some business cards/postcards and try and get my name out there

    Good morning everyone. Monday already!

Got a feeling this week is going to be as bad as last. The council site have put their vacancies on for the week and there's nothing except a couple of teacher jobs.

Think I am going to try a new approach to the search. I'm going to check three times a day, 9am, lunch time and dinner time, rather than spend the whole day looking. When it is this gorgeous outside, and there are so few jobs, it does feel like a complete waste of time just refreshing all day.

I'm going out for my tea tonight with friends, it's 2 for 1 and I'm the freebie apparently, love my friends! It's nice to just not have to think about looking for a job for a couple of hours.

I have a question for everyone. My holiday needs to be paid in 3 and a half weeks. We have already put down £300 deposit. It's only a cheapy holiday, and we both have another £200 to pay. I can afford to pay that at the moment, but obviously come holiday time I am going to need spending money.

What would you do? Pay for the holiday, and hope something comes up between now and then, or lose the deposit?

I just don't know what to do. It's worse because my BF will lose his deposit too through no fault of his own. Even if I could afford the spending money, the idea of coming home from a great holiday to know job fills me with dread. At the moment though the only thing keeping me going is looking forward to two weeks in the sun. It's funny because I don't think I have ever needed a holiday so badly after all of this!

I think I would go for it, I really think you will get something by then. Your plan for not sitting there hitting refresh (AKA hitting head against a brick wall) is a good one, and let the holiday allow you to feel positive and excited for when you do fill in applications/go to interviews.

Good Morning All! Hope this week is better for us all than last week was!

Lexi I say go for it! I've got my holiday at the beginning of August and hopefully I will be working by then but if not I will take what ever extra cash I have and make the best of it!

I reckon you should go on holiday lexi, I'm in exactly the same situation and should be leaving on 29th June, my boyfriend is going to pay the remainder on a long term 0% - not ideal but the best we can do rather than lose £500 deposit. I won't have any spending money either so the plan is to just enjoy the sun and peace and do what we can afford to do.

  • Got a no for second round but sincerely great feedback from the big retailer, which is good news. I fell down on something I obviously did not have enough experience with.

Will get news from my second round interview this week but carrying on applying as normal for now, and trying to get a particularly trying curry stain out of a favourite shirt, second round for that today :)
