    Hi all,

Sorry I haven't posted much this week but I can assure you I have been reading up on what you've all been up. I'm really sorry that there hasn't been much luck around for you all this week and I hope that something happens for you all soon.

    Keep the faith.

Well finished my weeks work, I felt this week went much better than the previous work I did for the same company, I was in a different part of the office and got on with everyone better, they said they'll give me a call for more work next week :D Not a whole week's work though.

My other employer I've been working for recently has just phoned me and asked if I was available to work at the end of the month - including the weekend and royal wedding day for an increased rate :D Obviously I said I could do it.

I've started to get some savings for driving lessons now (£210), so that will help me start, maybe need another £400 at least though, but I'll be getting more money at the end of the month.

Good luck everyone trying to find a job, it's really tough right now, I was unemployed from Boxing Day to mid march, which was the longest period of unemployment since I started in TV early 2010. Hope everyone has luck in finding a job soon!

This week I have applied for a total of one job, despite job searching for at least 10 hours a day Mon-Fri. Unbelievable.

    Enjoy the weekend guys.

Had a reply today advising me I had not been short-listed for a job I had applied for. Had spent 2 weeks working on the application and have 9 years experience in the job role. I have been caring for my mother for he last 2 years full time and can't help feeling having that on my CV is a hindrance

I had a conversation with an agency last week and the advisor amended my details to shorten the length of time I had last been in employment to make me appear more 'appealing' to clients. Can't win atm :( apologies for the rant lol

its weird how you get knocked back even though you have the experience, ive been knocked back a few times even though i have experience in the role, i reckon some of the knock backs werent my fault but an admin error

It is strange and demoralising. The local Uni are building a new Student Services department/building which will include student finance, fees, administration and debt management (the latter being my 9 years experience in a major energy company).

Tailored the application to everything they covered in the job specification/description and felt very confident. The email states they cannot even offer feedback.

    Onwards and upwards I guess.
  • I face the problem of not having much experience in admin work which is what I am looking for but I am getting some experience from voluntary work which will hopefully lead to employment down the line, all the people I work with have their ears to the ground for me :)

    Hi Livermum,

Thanks for asking, the job is very mundane and doesn't really stretch my abilities but the people I work with are very friendly and helpful, it will pay the bills till I find something else.

My feet? Don't ask, being on my feet all day is not something i'm used to. At least I haven't got any blisters, they are just very sore. Apparantly you get used to it after four to five weeks.........

    Have a good weekend all.

I suppose I should be greatful already having a part time job, but god I need to change. It's really getting me down now. Threw a sicky Thursday to attend an interview, sounded like a dream job ... interview was awful, I've never seen such an arrogant Personnel Manager before, definately don't want to work there .... so now 7 hours down from my 20.5 hr week ..... only to find yesterday OH returns from work 1 hour later ..... made redundant there and then!

Aaaaaaargh such a pain in the butt.

My computer is finally fixed - I just received the text approximately 10 minutes after leaving the shop with no sodding computer... How annoyed am I????? I called yesterday morning to check if it would be sorted by today and they obviously said yes.... Even went so far to say or would be ready by yesterday evening....

I have a paper application to keep me busy - but I have to say I'm not a fan - my writing always looks so messy in those boxes....

I can't believe how bored I am already. I honestly thought being off work for a while would be fun. How wrong could I have been?????
