I don't think i'll bother with the jacket (it is hot in South Wales today!) but still chuck the tie on. Although I hate wearing ties I do feel more business like when i'm wearing it.

Thanks for your suggestions Slinky & Soupdragon, better get some quick research in and a shave!! Catch you all later when I get back.

I so need to get back into work.

I've found the grand total of one job to apply for today unless I want to be 12D Lantra Accredited Operative (I think its something to do with traffic lights!) or a lorry driver! The only thing is its handwritten applications only and I HATE doing handwritten applications! I've just psyching myself up to get started!!

Good luck to everyone with interviews coming up. I've got mine coming up on Monday and I'm already getting nervous. I thought it would get easier as time went on but the exact opposite is happening.

    Anyway onwards and upwards.

I'm so annoyed. Just back from the Job Centre, I asked if they had any idea when I would be receiving some money as it's three weeks since my rapid reclaim and almost four weeks since getting any money. They looked at the system and the claim hasn't even been started  I'm just waiting for somebody to give me a call back but I am peed off. How am I supposed to live with no money in the bank?

Ouch :( my rapid reclaim was dead quick, I had money within 2 weeks...

Just had an email from the first company I ever applied for :rotfl: I had one interview with them then never heard back, that was 3 months ago. He said "sorry for the delay, I've just been really busy. If you are still looking for work are you available for a second interview?"

I wonder if he had someone and they've left or something, bit of a long time otherwise!

I'm rapidly coming to the conclusion that employers know that they are in the driving seat at the moment and can take their time over interviewing and appointing people.

Best of luck with the second interview.

Kinda sounds that way. Good luck, hopefully it will result in some good news for you

Thats the very reason I don't want to go down the temping route. If that happened to me I would be screwed financially and there is my little boy to consider. Hope they get it sorted soon for you.

  • Nothing for me to apply for, thought my lone parent advisor did send me a vacancy in the post she thought I might be interested in. Thing is though it sounds very much as though it is a cold calling sort of job 'Professional telephone fundraisers' and there is no way I could do that. I just don't agree with it.

ETA: I don't mean I don't agree with fundraising, I just don't agree with cold calling. If people want to donate to charity then they can but I don't agree with trying to coerce people into it.

Exactly same reason as me. I have told every agency not to bother contacting me unless they have a contact for atleast 6 month. I can't afford to work for a few week then end up back at the JC waiting for my rapid reclaim to get under way. I heard from someone who woks on a goverment course that these rapid reclaims are now taking upto possibly 10 week to get sorted due to all the claims being made:eek:
