Sounds like you need fresh eyes November. Is there anyone who can take an objective look at it for you?
Sometimes, we're so close to it, you're right, it's like you can't see the wood from the trees.0 -

Took it to a good recruiter last week who is advising me. She had nothing to add except keep it fresh, keep tailoring, and write every cover note from scratch. It is completely new to me to have applied for so many jobs (fifty plus), previously it has been no more than ten! (different times, eh).
Hoping to do a CV swap with a friend, see what that throws up.
I do wonder if I should put off applying for stuff when I lack zing!0 -
I have a second interview this afternoon, so spending the morning preparing.
What's everyone else up to today?
Good luck with the interview, hope it goes well and they employ you on the spot
It's job day here today. I'm trying to leave the job search until later on this afternoon, jobs get added all day and it's hard to keep up, I would rather just go through them all in one go. Had a quick look this morning though and there's a couple already that have caught my eye.
Happy job hunting everyone, hope today is the day somebody gets the news they have been waiting for0 -
Thank you, feeling a bit sorry for myself but I'm sure tomorrow I'll be back to my usual self.
I wish people would give me proper feedback, that one just said I "interviewed well and was friendly" but apparently refused to give the agency any bad feedback. That's what I need though!
It is normal to feel like that.
I hate this type of feedback and normally manage to pushhhhhhhhhhhhhhh the agency for TRUE feedback.
That is how I found out about being too assertive (LOL) for one job.
Another one I was a perfect candidate but.... I was not wearing tights. Honest to God. This is what I have heard. I was not wearing tights.
I had a skirt suit on, it was few years back, in the summer, incredibly hot, I was dying in a suit as it was, never thought about putting TIGHTS on.
It was a Law firm and they picked on THAT.
Chin up. It will get better0 -
Oh, if anyone looks on REED, there is always number of people that have already applied next to each job advert.
Considering most jobs are advertised on more than one website.....
Hmmmmm0 -
Okay, it's a new day and I'm not going to let yesterday beat me. I spent time feeling sorry for myself and now I'm back and ready to start again lol.
Good luck katkim with the interview and November if you want any of us to have a look at your CV I'm sure we wouldn't mind, just delete your address/phone number outJust because you made a mistake doesn't mean you are a mistake.0 -

I even thought I would hide under the duvet today but this thread got me going againGood luck to everyone.
I would love some opinion on the CV and I am just going to look at the profile at the top of it today. Here it is:
I have extensive experience in ecommerce, both managing and marketing high profile websites. I create engaging and credible multi-channel digital marketing campaigns with proven commercial acumen and demand generation.
I have developed and delivered innovative and effective strategies to meet and exceed targets, being a fantastic communicator at all levels maintaining friendly and productive relationships with clients, suppliers and internal departments.
I mean, it's not that bad, but is it just bland and nothingy?0 -
I'm assuming you detail the experience and give examples of your projects in the main body of the CV?
I think it's fine as a summary and intro
I might split up the last sentence though, it's fairly long, or I would make the your communication skills more relevant to how you develop innovative strategies such as - I have developed and delivered innovative and effect strategies to meet and exceed targets through good communication skills, which helps fosters an productive relationship with clients, suppliers and internal departments - or something along those lines.
Ok, I'm off to get read for my interview. Have a good afternoon everyone.0 -
Afternoon all,
Good luck with your interview katkim, hope it goes well.
I've been to the gym this morning for a while and i'm just going to start a bit of job hunting now and see what's out there.
Best of luck all.0 -
That looks fine November, I've since read my own profile and decided I hate it though! :rotfl:
Slow day, only found 3 new jobs so far.Just because you made a mistake doesn't mean you are a mistake.0
