I am working on the positive affirmations, 'when I get a job' 'I will get this job' 'I deserve this job', I am surprised how negative I felt last year.

It's hard not to dip in and out of negative thinking - especially after an interview or a rejection letter or scouring the job boards and seeing nothing new, or even seeing a news item about how crap the economy is at the moment. For me, these all trigger a 'woe is me' mood. I feel sorry for my friends and family who have to put up with me :o

Just heard back from the agency, I didn't get the job. Surprise surprise.
Just because you made a mistake doesn't mean you are a mistake.
  • Drea - sorry to hear that..... :(

But the next one will be yours and it will be better *HUGS*

I once went for an interview and the feedback from the agency was that employer felt I was... too assertive

Mind it, it was a training job, standing up at the front of several delagates one HAS to be assertive LOL

Thank you, feeling a bit sorry for myself but I'm sure tomorrow I'll be back to my usual self.

I wish people would give me proper feedback, that one just said I "interviewed well and was friendly" but apparently refused to give the agency any bad feedback. That's what I need though!

Sorry to hear that you didn't get the job, Drea.

At least you have more interviews lined up - onwards, as they say.

Sorry to hear that Drea. It obviously wasn't meant to be. I am sure the perfect job is just around the corner.

Just got another 'thanks but no thanks' email. Sigh.

Hard luck Drea, hope something else comes up soon. Try not to let it get you down.

I've just spent three quarters of an hour "dumbing down" my CV and covering letter for a temporary job that is just above minumum wage but is fairly local. Felt so dirty...... But having had a look at the bank balance this morning and feeling so down about not working I feel kind of desperate.

    Good luck on your interview!

I've been updating my CV on the job websites, searching there and researching company websites that may have openings.

Got two jobs to apply for. Worrying that I have spent so much time on my CV and cover notes they are now devoid of personality :(
Somehow I just seem able to get my skills across effectively, even though my CV has been admired. It's like the problem is staring me in the face and I just can't see it. Hmmmmm
