Can I ask what sort of jobs people are applying for? So many people on here seem to be applying for several jobs a week...I spend ages looking online and haven't found anything to apply for since before Christmas.

I'm looking for full time work and want a salary of 17k-25k. I don't understand why I'm not finding anything...maybe it's the type of job I'm looking for or maybe it's the area I live in.

I work with websites (but am not a programmer), and jobs in this field are not all that frequent. I've applied for all kinds of jobs, though, anything tangentially related to my field to secretarial and data processing. Right now, I just need to get an income going, and hope my dream job shows up soon!

I have spent the last 7 years working in prisons, I'm now looking for a more community based job...something like working with homeless people, ex-offenders, drug users etc.

Well it's Monday again. Time for another busy week of job hunting......

Good luck to all those of you with interviews this week and those waiting to hear back from recent interviews.

Here's hoping for some good news from somebody on this thread by Friday.

    Cool sentiments :)
Had interview with good recruiter last week, wondering how pushy to be...
I emailed and asked to specifically be put up for a role, no answer since Thursday though.
The big thing this week is another CV rewrite, I feel like it is almost, but not quite top notch..

How pushy to be with recruiters?

I was wondering that the other day, someone from the thread is bound to get something soon :)

I've been finding quite a lot but not much on the Job Centre website, have been doing the local papers and applying for agency jobs (even though I don't hold out too much hope with them). But then I'm looking for admin work around £14k-£18k (not that more wouldn't be preferred ;)) so I have a broader range to go for.

I'd say to get in touch once a week, just to keep you fresh in their minds if nothing else. If you have specifically asked about a job give them a ring though :)

I popped into an agency last week to remind them that I existed. They said that jobs they were recruiting for 12 months ago that paid maybe £25,000 were now coming up at £17,000. They reckoned that they haven't had a job paying over £17,500 for a couple of months.

It's not getting any easier out there.....

Best of luck with that Drea.

Wouldn't it be ironic if the person who started the thread is the first to get into employment.

Good luck anyone who has interviews.. I am not jealous at all :o

I'm struggling today, cannot find a single job to apply for. There has been very little posted today.

Did get a little bit of good news yesterday, a friend of a friend is quite high up in the company. They told me to give them a copy of my cv a few weeks ago. We were talking about it last night and apparently they are creating a position for me, but it won't be for a few months yet... we shall see.

Left the house then ready for my interview today only to be phoned and told they have offered someone the job so they don't need to see me! Less than an hour before I'm supposed to be there.... oh that makes me mad! All dolled up and nowhere to go!

Surely it means tomorrow has to be more lucky though....
