Just thought i'd bump this back up to page one as it's been so useful.
Anybody had any good news today?
I've applied for three jobs today but no responses from any previous applications.0 -
I've applied for 7 jobs today.
I hate application forms, why can't they just want a CV??0 -
I hate application forms too! Especially the ones that take hours to fill in.
Well, I went to the agency yesterday and the job they have me in mind for is a goody, near where I live, 9am - 4.30pm, good wage. It's 3-6 months temp but apparently they usually take everyone on perm afterwards. She took my bank details and gave me time sheets and is going to try set up an interview for me. Seems quite positive so fingers crossed something comes of it, sounds like a really good job.
Another agency phoned me today wanting to put me forward for a job that pays £780ish a month, doesn't even cover my bills!
Not actually applied for anything today, been run off my feet and feeling quite guilty for it...Just because you made a mistake doesn't mean you are a mistake.0 -
No joy on the job front here today. I had an interview last week, finally heard their decision today. It was between me and another person, the other person got the job. I have had that happen several times now, it is getting old!0

- I was made redundant in July
- I've signed up with 6-7 recruitment agencies (with the exception of one their ALL rubbish)
- I've had a few temp assignments since late September - mid December
- I've only had 5 interview since July
- I've lost count of how many jobs I've applied for - probably in the realms of 250+
- I applied for JSA on 5th Jan... I've been living off my redundancy pay and temp pay... pretty reluctant to do apply for JSA, you see.
- I have a temp contract starting on Monday for 3 months but in the meantime I'm still looking for full time work
- I had a great interview in December, I'm awaiting to hear back from the company via the recruitment agency for a second interview

I don't like weekends now that I'm job hunting. I don't feel like I can relax but everything is at such a standstill. No responses nor new jobs appearing...:(
The good news is that I got an invite for a second interview yesterday for next Wednesday, but I think second interviews are so much harder to prepare for, since all the obvious questions have been asked. I'm trying to figure out what other questions/topics they might bring up!! It's also a panel interview, when the first one was with just one of the Directors. I'm not sure why panel interviews put me more on edge *bites nails*
I also got an interview on Monday, which if I do get involves moving across the country. I want it, but I'm not sure I want what it entails
Anyhoo, going to fill in another application this afternoon. It's 11 pages plus a personal statement! I think I need to break out the chocolate muffins to get me through it!!
Hope everyone else is having a good weekend.0 -

I don't have any faith in agencies at all. But hoping this one that has a job I want might just come through for me. To be fair I did find a job through an agency and stayed there 2 and a half years. Hope you get that second interviewI don't like weekends now that I'm job hunting. I don't feel like I can relax but everything is at such a standstill. No responses nor new jobs appearing...:(

I job hunt during business hoursdon't do weekends, although I am going to fill in an application form tomorrow since I didn't do it on Friday when I should have really!

I've just signed on for JSA, and am sending off my job aplications on Monday. I'm only 19, and I feel like this will count against me, although I have a lot of experience for my age, and good A levels. I've been really lucky in that I was able to get a job between March and November at the company my mum works for, and some agency temp work over Christmas.
I'm going to sign up with some agencies on Monday, as I think it is worth a try and at least I can then show that I'm trying to the people at the Job Centre. I did have a really nice interview at the Job Centre, the lady said my CV was well written, and encouraged me to apply for some jobs I felt were a bit "high up the ladder" for me, but maybe something will come of it.
Keeping my fingers crossed for everyone with interviews.0 -
I was made redundant in July but I signed on to JSA on 5th Jan as I was living off redundancy pay and a few bits of temp work here and there. I had my first appointment 10th Jan to sign paperwork and my first sign on date was 13th Jan.
My flatmate said, as soon as you sign on you'll get a job, just watch! he was right, on 19th Jan I was advised that I'd got a new temp assignment (3 months only though).
Funny that....
I'm hoping to have JSA backdated from mid Dec... I doubt I'll be successful though.0 -
Well it's Monday again. Time for another busy week of job hunting......
Good luck to all those of you with interviews this week and those waiting to hear back from recent interviews.
Here's hoping for some good news from somebody on this thread by Friday.0
