Hi MissMotivation, welcome, although I'm sorry you have to be here...3 interviews in 10 days? That's brilliant. I'm lucky to hear back from an application in 10 days, if at all. You must be doing something right :)

I'm just drafting my thank you for interviewing email - I never really know what to write...other than PLEASE GIVE ME THE JOB!!! (but not in those exact words :rotfl:)

Ohh should I be doing this? I've never thought of sending a thank you for interviewing email...

I think my CV is great and it's certainly getting me the interview, plus I have alot of experience and knowledge. I wondered whether my interview technique was up to scratch when I get the first rejection as they said that they felt the interview was a little "flat" and that there was no "spark". The last two interviews I was much more relaxed and I felt my true personility showed and it got me two second interview so I must has said something right!

My second interviews are with Senior Directors of the Companies, I just know I'm going to be nervous and waffle on lol.
My home is usually the House Buying, Renting and Selling Forum where I can be found trying to (sometimes unsucessfully) prove that not all Estate Agents are crooks. With 20 years experience of Sales/Lettings and having bought and sold many of my own properties I've usually got something to say ;)

I've not done this either, also wondering what I would write....

I don't think it hurts - I normally send a short emails saying thanks for taking the time to see me, I enjoyed learning about the company/projects/work ethics, and being able to share some of the reasons why I would fit into the company/meet the company needs (sometimes I give a quick summary of my skills/experience etc), and I look forward to hearing from them soon etc etc.

If I missed something out in the interview and kicking myself for not mentioning it, I also drop it in there.

I think it's just polite, maybe shows you're keen and proactive.

Just had another agency phone call, they want to put me forward for a job, so I'm to get there by 4.30pm so they can sign me up and fingers crossed they REALLY want to put me forward for it (I know, I know, I'm bitter towards them).

  • How many jobs is everyone applying for per day? I am averaging 1-3, but I live in Shropshire, so not too many jobs around here..

Are your days similar to mine? Get up about 10am. At 11am trawl the main jobsites for jobs added on current day, this only takes about 30mins. I repeat the process at 2pm and then at around 5pm. I feel like I should be doing something else, but speculative apps have never worked for me so I don't bother anymore. Going to company websites 9 times out of 10 results in a 'No vacancies' message or there will be one very high level job advertised, plus most companies use agencies anyway. I feel guilt if I do something to amuse myself or guilt for not getting up early, but I don't see the point in getting up early as you haven't given agencies/employers the chance to put any jobs up yet for the day..
  • NinjaSeb, I'm probably average 1-3 a day too, luckily the ones I've applied for I've got interviews lined up for. I still tend to get up at 7.30pm....I'm an early riser and I spend most of the day online but getting fed up of the same roles being advertised time and time again!

Just had another call from the Recruitment guy I met this morning, he has lined up an interview for me this evening at 6pm.....best get my skates on and do some research.

    Wish me luck!

is everyone looking for employment outside the home?

is anyone starting own business or working from home and if so do you check the opportunities on this board?

I've applied for 8 jobs today, 7 yesterday but only 4 the day before. Because I've just started looking I've had the backlog to clear so had a lot to be doing. Now I'm just down to the new ones daily :)

I'm so happy to see this topic :T

I've posted on here about my job hunt before. I graduated from Uni in July last year, had a temp job since October but since then... nothing :(

I apply for as much as I can, but there really is very little to apply for. I've had 2 interviews since October :(

It's just so awfully depressing. I feel like my life is on hold. No money = no life! Me and my OH desperately want to buy our own house but with no job it's not happening.

Waking up every day with nothing to do is rubbish.
