Well, i'm back from my interview.....
Like a lot of jobs these days there was no wage posted when I originally applied, they did ask how much I was being paid before. So I told then honestly what I was paid in my previous but that I would consider working for less considering the emplyment market. They told me in the interview that my wage would be £10,000 less than what I was on before (which was below the average annual wage!) and that would be if I got paid bonus which obviously fluctuated!
The interview went fairly well, they've still got some interviews to arrange and they'll let me know in two weeks if i'm successful.0 -
good luck Drea
everything crossed for yaIf we can put a man on the moon...how come we cant put them all there?

Course there is
Does anyone keep an up to date spreadsheet of all the jobs they've applied for?
....or am I just insane?
I do.....but then Im quite sad like that!
I print mine off and take it to the job centre, rather than filling in that little booklet they give you.......keeps the job centre peeps happy, and gives me an enormous sense of well being when I actually look at how many jobs I have applied for, and how so few of them actually got me anywhere.....
On the plus side, I received an invite for interview today!! Really rather excited, and after feeling so down on my luck last night, it has perked me up no end!:)I used to be Snow White, but I drifted.Mae West

Good luck with the interviews Drea, Elfieb and anyone else who has one lined up!
I went for an interview yesterday, and it seemed more like an informal chat. All the way through I was thinking, how can I 'sell' myself' and I was worrying that I wasn't doing enough to convince them I was the right person for the role - I mean, we were chatting about sunsets, commuting, Cornwall, Rochester College, flying...totally random, not so relevant stuff.
However, at the end he said he was interviewing someone else after me and one more tomorrow, but would definately like to see me again for a second interview next week, which will be with the other managers/directors.
LOL, maybe he realised he didn't really ask me any questions and needed a second interview to do that, and couldn't do it right now because the next candidate was arriving shortly!
I don't know, it's so hard to tell. Sometimes I think I did brilliantly, but would get a rejection straight away, othertimes I think I did badly and get a second interview...fingers crossed anyway.0 -
Good luck stew, elfie and katkim
we're all doing well I think! It isn't easy even to get interviews at the moment so at least we're getting something. Would prefer a job mind you
Back to applying for lots again today, but I have the cinema tonight (free tickets - got to love MSE) so that can take the edge off for a whileJust because you made a mistake doesn't mean you are a mistake.0 -
What a great thread!
I've posted before about my Job search but to recap. I'm still employed...only just as I'm on Garden Leave until 10th February. Started applying for jobs on the 10th January and so far have had 3 interviews, one rejectionand two second interviews which are tomorrow and Saturday.
I had a really interesting and postive meeting with a Recruitment Company that specialises in my field and he has one vacancy that he is going to put me forward for and has 2 contacts in Companies that I am interested in working for so fingers crossed.
Any else getting annoyed with the same jobs cropping up time and time again on websites, nothing changed, I expect just re-uploading them to gain more interest.....so frustrating!
I officialy have 3 weeks to find a job before I start to panic :eek:My home is usually the House Buying, Renting and Selling Forum where I can be found trying to (sometimes unsucessfully) prove that not all Estate Agents are crooks. With 20 years experience of Sales/Lettings and having bought and sold many of my own properties I've usually got something to sayIgnore......check!0 -

Not bad going on the interview frontfingers crossed you get some good news from the other two!
The panic is slowly sneaking in for me now. Only been looking a week so shouldn't complain really, I'll get pay from my old job on 28th to do me a month (kind of) and after then I'm stuck. It's worrying knowing that once I get a job I'll still probably have a month to wait before any pay comes my way!Just because you made a mistake doesn't mean you are a mistake.0 -
Hi MissMotivation, welcome, although I'm sorry you have to be here...3 interviews in 10 days? That's brilliant. I'm lucky to hear back from an application in 10 days, if at all. You must be doing something right
I'm just drafting my thank you for interviewing email - I never really know what to write...other than PLEASE GIVE ME THE JOB!!! (but not in those exact words :rotfl:)0 -

I get my last wages at the end of this month too, but, like you I will have to work a month before I get any other money eeek!
No new jobs to apply for today and I'm just trawling the internet researching companies that I want to work for.My home is usually the House Buying, Renting and Selling Forum where I can be found trying to (sometimes unsucessfully) prove that not all Estate Agents are crooks. Have had a couple phone calls from agencies today after information about me. Have been avoiding applying for agency jobs (other than the ones I've already signed up for) until now and they are annoying me already :rotfl:
Still, if something comes of it I won't be complaining!Just because you made a mistake doesn't mean you are a mistake.0
