I can't find no more than 2 vacancies that are new this week, The rest I have already applied for, It's really slow, They want you to apply for stuff that don't exist.

At least I'm not the only one struggling to find anything to apply for this week. I don't understand where all of these jobs that we are all meant to be applying for actually are because they are definitely not around this way!

    Good morning.

I've just got a job alert for a psychology vacancy at the local prison. Sounds perfect so going to start the application form today. I want to spend a lot of time on it because I think there will be a lot of people applying and I need my application to be spot on!

    Happy job searching everyone

    Hi Lexilex

I'm normally just a lurker on this thread however...I applied for this role and got through to interview stage (have had to decline the invite though as I have an interview on the same day for my ideal job). If you want a couple of pointers then please feel free to PM me. I certainly don't profess to being an expert or anything but even if it helps a tiny bit then it might be worth it!

I've still heard nothing from the agency about the job I'm meant to be starting tomorrow. They were meant to call me back last night to confirm the details. I called them at half 12 today and was told I needed to speak to someone else who wasn't there so they'd call me back. Still waiting.

Just annoyed that I've rearranged my voluntary work for this. Called them today to arrange taking in my CRB stuff and they said this afternoon was fine, just been and they can't do it today so I'll have to take time off work next week to do (assuming I still have the job)

    Sorry, rant over

Thanks! That would be fab, I'll send you a PM shortly. I am really struggling with the application form, been putting it off all day, would be great to get some idea of what they are looking for.

Sorry to hear that! Bloody agencies eh? This is exactly the kind of story that puts me off them.

I'm sure the school will be understanding though, afterall you are helping them by volunteering!

I know. It was due to the fact it's a residential boys home and they said because i'm young I'm very likely to get comments made by the boys every day (they are aged 10 to 18). I don't really want to be in that environment but the guy met me when I signed up so why they didn't think of this before asking me I have no idea! So back to square one now.

Just had a phone call from a agency. I applied for a job through them about 3 weeks ago, They want me to do them a favour and go to this site tomorrow and help tidy up then they promised if I did this for them that they would find me extra employment when this job was over. I said I would do it just to basically get some extra pounds in the bank, Only thing I worry about is signing off and how much of a struggle it might be to sign back on after this job finishes and if they don;t find me other work :S

My job may be extended by 2 days, if there's budget for it :D

Then straight onto my other job the next day. So things are looking good for me at the minute. I'm going to keep my housing benefit claim going but hand my payslips in, so I stay on the same claim and not get capped (I haven't checked to see if it affects me if I start a new claim).

I'm just currently watching the sun set over London, I can see Canary Wharf, St Pauls, The Gherkin, BT Tower, London Eye and Houses of Parliment from where I am. It looks pretty!

I'm going to go home now and set my old computer up to use. And buy some contents insurance!!!
