    Good morning.

I'm just back from the lovely job centre. Glad to have it done first thing. Reclaim all sorted, they didn't even ask about why the job ended.

I'm knackered today. Started my job search at 7.30am yesterday and didn't finish til 9.30 last night! I would be doing less hours if I was working!

I've just got a job alert for a psychology vacancy at the local prison. Sounds perfect so going to start the application form today. I want to spend a lot of time on it because I think there will be a lot of people applying and I need my application to be spot on!

    Happy job searching everyone

    Morning,

I'm feeling a bit better about things today, not sure why! Hey Stew, I'm being put forward for a job in Newport from my agency.

Going to do some job hunting nice and early in the hope today turns into another hot one :)

    Good luck with that :D

Just got back from a look around a school for a TA job in the Foundation Stage. Seemed like a really nice place to work although past experience has told me not to get my hopes up. I was told they'd had a lot of interest but hardly anyone has actually asked to look around so she was going to make sure the Headteacher knew I'd been for a visit.

Good Morning everyone, I'm a bit late getting started today because I have had a driving lesson this morning. I really can't wait to pass my test! Hope we all have a good day today!
  • Didnt want to join this thread as id seen my ideal job, been for an interview, got offered it, did all the refs and everything went on the books on the 14th March, no letter confirming a start date yet. And nobody seems to know anything else either.

So have decided that as it was sessional work anyway, just to get some experience in that field that i will start the ball rolling and start applying for jobs.

Its so annoying waiting on the post everyday to see if theres a letter for me and the disappointment when theres not :(

Well i'm back. My advisor was suprised to see my questionaire filled out and didn't even bother looking at it or the applications i'd filled out. I'm back on weekly signing and have to see the same advisor every week. Even he said it was just a case of ticking the boxes and it was all a load of rubbish.

One thing I did find out which I need to confirm. He reckoned that if you have mortgage protection insurance and have the money paid direct into your bank account it's classed as income which will effect your benefits payment after six months, however if the insurance company pay the mortgage company direct then it wouldn't affect your benefits. This seems to be where i've gone wrong so i'll have to take a deep breath and phone the benefits agency this afternoon to try and sort this out.

Drea, don't get excited about coming to Newport. It really is a dump.......

    Good job hunting everybody.

Is it just my area or is there no new jobs anywhere today. Not one new vacancy yet today in my town (15 mile radius) on the Jobcentre site. Only 4 yesterday.
I was hoping things would pick up

I don't want to jinx things but it seems to be looking up around here at the moment. I've managed to apply for 12 things this week, and have 3 apps to do today. Things have been dreadful here though, I'm sure it said on the local news 1 in 13 people are unemployed.

I've just had an email from someone who had seen my CV asking if I am interested in working in recruitment. The irony!
