    Hi Guys

    Hope everyone is well.

    Can anyone help me out?

    With regards to Type 1s

Im doing tasks and they are 2 parters, so I submit and then get step 2 of 2 complete and then submit again. Does this count as 2 tasks to put on my timesheet?

I think Im expected to do 114 per hour, which would make 57 full tasks.

    Thanks

Had a look at the metrics table yesterday and can't believe that the bottom one suggests that we should be rating tasks every 5 seconds! Could someone work that out as well as I can't see me doing that if I have to research some things.

Also, had a phone call from Lion Bridge yesterday and I originally thought that I was about to get sacked as soon as the guy said which company he was calling from. He basically asked me how I was doing and if I could commit to 10 hours per week which was a bit annoying as I had been doing over 10 hours in the last couple of weeks. I then asked him other questions but he didn't seem to know the answers...

Interesting point and not something I'd considered!!! I've been doing a lot of these too but have counted each individual item as one (both submits = one enquiry). If anyone knows differently, I'd be interested too!

With regards to the bottom entry on the metrics chart..........I am NEVER going to be that quick!!!!!!!!! :T

Hi all, I am trying to apply for Lionbridge but there is a fault in their javascript with the form so it refuses to submit (you can't select which country you're from). The only contact info on the site asks for your organisation, job title etc. I just want to inform them the form isn't working so they can fix it. Anyone got a contact email or something I could use? many thanks!

Ive only been rating for 2 weeks, but Ive had no problem getting tasks over the weekend so far.

I emailed them yesterday with some questions after reading the metrics. Im still confused as to how exactly the timings are done.

For example, the flowchart next to the metrics say the time is recorded by them from acquiring the task to submitting it, but from the work Ive done so far, you dont acquire 'a' task, you acquire a 'project' with several tasks, and whilst you 'submit' each task you dont 'acquire' each one individually. So how do they time each task ? I've been timing each one individually but with sometimes taking some pauses between 'tasks' when I total up this time it isnt going to be the same as they will record if they record the time for the whole set of tasks ? (and the flowchart says their time should match that you record).

I asked about pausing within projects / between 'tasks' and they said it is ok as long as you dont pause during tasks, but the problem I have is they seem to use 'task' to mean both 'task' and 'group of tasks/projects' so it isnt clear what they mean ?

What are other raters thoughts on this ?

I had a missed call from them yesterday !! I tried phoning back but just got the receptionist or someone who told me theyd probably call back if they needed me !! I too was concerned I was going to get the sack, either because Id been taking too long over tasks or because I kept emailing them with so many questions !! lol :rotfl:

  • Hi,

I am new to this site.

Just passed the lionbridge internet assessor exams and will be starting on this job soon.

Does anyone have any good tips? I've also heard there is some sort of application where you can track your time.

    Thanks!

Every time you press acquire, you receive a number of similar tasks. Every time you press submit i.e. complete ONE, that is one task, and each of those tasks is timed. They don't measure from the second you physically acquire the set of tasks (they have a funny way of wording things sometimes).

I have a sheet here which I was following before they removed it from the site, which contains the timings they measure (or at least were measuring up till the beginning of March) for each one. They are a bit sneaky, and I found some tasks were actually measured like differently named tasks (so more or less time that you expect. If anyone needs that info pm me and I will send it to you.

Lionbridge taskcontrol software works wonders for timing tasks - just remember to press "1" every time you hit submit on a task :D
