  • Thanks for posting. I will do as I do every year for any sale. If I want the item enough and am happy with the reduction I will buy it. If not I will wait and if it doesn't get reduced further or sells out before any more reductions, too bad. I buy things in sales because I think friends and family will like the item, it's hardly ever anything that couldn't be bought some other time or place so if I don't get anything it's not a problem I will just keep on bargain hunting until I do find some lovely stuff at lovely low prices.

I work for Boots and we were sent a memo yesterday morning saying:
"All sale items will be remaining at 50% off. The company does not have any plans for a 75% off sale this year."

Thanks for that :) (or should I say :()

I wonder if they have looked at every ones wish list and think to themselves that at some point we will buy @ 50%..... don't think so the items on my list are only there as I would pay the 75% price and not the 50% price. Any way Boots you have had more than enough money from me in the last few months to last you a long while. I am sure I can spend my £50 advantage points at some time.

This'll probably be controversial but I'd be happy enough if they split the difference and made it a two-thirds off sale - even if it's an interim thing and they later sell what's left at 75% next month. That way, we could buy what we really want - the 'top of our list' stuff -and it might just put off the ebay sellers-on who fill their baskets with multiple purchases of the premium stuff and leave the shelves empty for the rest of us.

Do I need to duck and run for cover? ;)

Debts another fine mess you got us into!

    Precisely my thoughts :D

The one item I did buy in the 50% sale was something I buy every year and I would kick myself if there were none left/no further reductions and I had to pay full price - so, to me, that is a bargain.

Other stuff I'm happy to wait - they are not so 'OMG Perfect' that I need them right then and there and if I don't get them I can usually find something similar cheaper.

Keep strong Bootsers - save those points

I've just sent my friend who works in Boots a message, so hopefully she'll get back to me soon.

Is there much left in Bristol does anyone know? I really want one of their calendars, I don't fancy paying for delivery!

To be honest, with the M&S and Bodyshop sale plus the Bomb Cosmetics reduced stuff, I have enough stuff here to set up a market stall! I think Boots will me doing me a favour if they don't reduce to 75% because I would be spending money for the sake of it.

Er, does anyone know where the Boots clearance store is in Basildon? I didn't know that such things existed!

Not that I am allowed to buy anything, but thought it may be useful to have someone keep an eye on them to see if the sale stuff is arriving there....:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Less stuff, more life, love, laughter and cats!
Even if I'm on the shopping threads, it doesn't mean I'm buying! Sometimes it's good to just look and then hit the CLOSE button!
