I am not a mother's cousin's friend. I work at Boots myself. This was a copy of a printed-out memo from Head Office I saw with my own eyes. Unless this is an elaborate ploy by my store to throw staff off the scent then I think it's safe to say there probably won't be a sale. I'm sorry to ruin the bargain-hunting party for you but I was just passing on information which I thought other people might find useful.
The sale was never 'set' to start yesterday, that was a presumption made by a lot of people who were basing their predictions on the fact it started at a similar time last year.
Nobody means to offend you, we do fully believe that you were told that. But it's also possible that head office can change their mind on a day to day basis. They might send another memo tomorrow with different information (hopefully anyway:p)Total debt 11/1/2011 €5350.65Total debt 12/12/12 €3222.31CrazyClothesChallenge 2013 #006 €34.08/€5000 -
I wonder if a further reduction up to 75% is worth the bother to boots . They will not make much money on it I suppose . They may well shift the lot off to clearance stores or aisles. boo hoo! (I didn't know they did clearance stores any in South Wales area please?)xXx-Sukysue-xXx0

Awww really disappointed ... have been going into my local Boots (Margate) every day. The shelves are stacked up with 50% off items but the store is so very quiet, you can hear a pin drop. Everyone has been waiting for 75%... grrrrrrrrrr !!!0

Um my local had changed their signage to 75% off on Tuesday night for it starting Wednesday so I don't think it was just a presumption lol It however didn't go ahead for whatever reason and they were changing them all back to 50% yesterday morning, In another boots they told us to keep checking ...September wins - Quizonaut - Stress-out CD , Keno.com $43.500 -
Noticed a few people have mentioned moving stock to the "Boots Clearance Stores" - where are these wonderful sounding places??0

Thank you for letting us know op. I did wonder this when I went into my local branch (sittingbourne) yesterday when I saw that they had starting putting out the sun cream out  There was still lots of sale stuff though?
Good luck everyone and Thank you to all posters xx0 -
Maybe Boots are hoping that with the passing of time we will forget that their '50% off' isn't actually 50%, but only 25% off.
3 items priced at £10 would have cost a total of £20 on 3 for 2
Now at '50% off' they cost you £15. A saving of £5 > only 25% off
IF they have a '75% off' sale, the same 3 items would then cost £7.50 (only 62% off)
It's clear why Mr Boots is dragging his heels.0 -
Thanks to the op for posting- staff can only go off what they are told so thanks for sharing the information:)
I am like a few on here, I guess...I refuse to pay 50% off sale prices-so if they do not reduce down to 75%-then I think that is the company's loss. Would make more sense to get rid of old stock at 75% off rather than dumping it (unless they kindly donated stock to charities for raffles etc:). So, I will look to other -just as fabulous cheap bargains - posted by the wonderful people of MSE:T ...mmm with one eye on Boots....Just in case;) x:hello: SHARING THE LOVE (OF A BARGAIN) x0 -
