Oooohhh! What variety? My OH doesn't want be to buy one - says it will grow too big??!!

Get one on dwarfing rootstocks (rootstock controls the height) produce fruit trees that range from apple trees three to four feet high on M27 rootstock, but six to eight feet high on M9 rootstocks. they won't take up that much space as for variety think about whether you want cooker or eaters and site, soil and aspect then go from there ocassionally places like the RHS and other gardens and nurseries have apple or fruit tasting days and might be able to help further.

You didn't? I don't know much about apple tree pollination, but I would hope so. :p

    A bunch of flowers. ;)

It depends on the pollination group the trees are in. basically do the trees flower at the same time and are the the same varieties? some will be self feltile some you'll need another variety near by some the same variety. It can get quite compilcated the fruit expert by hessayon has quite a good guide or failing that phone e-mail a specialist in fruit trees

If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.

    Bybrook Barn.

It was the last one left of some quite old stock ("a couple of years old" they told me), so on sale. Mr & Mrs badexample snr offered to buy me a patio set, which I declined (wouldn't use it and it would get in the way!), but we found this, which I think is perfect for me. :D

    Beans. :D

It is quite nice, but as is the way with garden centres that try to do everything (from pools & spas to furniture, plants and assorted rubbish, plus a restaurant) it is a bit pricey.

They did have a display model left that some plank of a customer had returned, after unsucessfully trying to assemble it with a hammer.
