Well this morning we have life in the cherry tomato 'sweetie' and plum tomato 'Roma' I put in unheat propegators last saturday and put in my kitchen... I am so glad I have about 7 meters of worktop space. Still nothing from the cucumbers, spring onion or sweet peppers.
Yesterday the kids sowed some tomato 'amature' they got as a red nose day kit. Sunflowers planned fr this weekendMF aim 10th December 2020 :j:eek:MFW 2012 no86 OP 0/20000 -

Ingredients
1 1/4 cups sliced fresh jalapenos
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup water
1 drop green food coloring (optional)
Instructions
Slice jalapenos, and place in a small sauce pan. Add water and sugar. Cook over medium heat until boiling. Reduce temperature to low, and simmer until the liquid has reduced, and the sugar water has become syrup-like (about 15- 20 minutes depending on temperature of heat source). Let cool and place in clean jam jar. Store in refrigerator.Started my own business and loving being my own boss

I like your thinking.
And are you as err...intriguing as your username suggests? Should you be up at noon?If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -
I was looking at that picture of the PinP (post #207), and I saw my little (then new) lavender plants behind it. They've grown a bit since then, I thought, so popped out to have a look:
If you look carefully you can see that some of the leaves have been nibbled.
And then I found these blighters:
So, what eats lavender? I need to know, because I like to think I'm fairly wildlife-friendly (sawfly excepted). If they're a common menace, the birds can have 'em. If they are uncommon, and not too destructive, I wouldn't necessarily be averse to putting them back.
Any ideas?
Edit: On the plus side, I'm pretty sure it's not rosemary beetle. If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -
These are about the best I can do:If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0

Urgh, horrible-whatever they are they're not complimenting my salad sandwich I'm eating *shudder*Any ideas what could be nibbling my peppers in the GH? I looked in the bug thread and I'm going to try a water spray with a drop of washing liquid in it, fingers crossed!0

Urgh, horrible-
I don't see horrible. I just see a little crawly thing getting on with the business of being a little crawly thing.
But, if it'll wreck my lavender, it'll have to be bird food.
Don't know about the peppers. Have you had a close look?
Last year some of my chiilies got infested with something whose larvae burrowed into the fruit, and hid inside whilst munching away. I wasn't very happy about that, I can tell you! Bit early for those though, as we're a long way from fruit. If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -
I had a good look this morning but couldn't see anything-I'll be out tomorrow investigating. Sadly I'm stuck at work on this glorious day boo0

They're some sort of moth caterpillar I would think. I wouldn't have thought they would do any damage your lavender couldn't cope with.Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0
