No, never tried them. This one's the same variety as the one in post #1462, just a bit of a mutant. They normally grow to a bit less than 1lb.
If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.

    Yep!

I need to show mine to the tomatoes for encouragement. :D

I have been hand pollinating all of my peppers and chillis. Partly just to be sure but also because my greenhouse is quite shaded so doesn't need to door open unless its really hot so the bees don't always get in!!

Bit windy here. My outdoor tomatoes are not liking it much - mostly due to the weight of the trusses. I think these kumatoes were just about to start ripening. :(

I think I'll leave them, as these greenhouse ones snapped a while ago, but they're still ripening nicely:

On the whole, I can't really grumble:

Hello - lurker here :o After seeing all of your wonderful tomatoes I really hope you can help mine. I am growing them inside a polytunnel for the first time as I have always grown them outside before. I wasn't expecting too much as the ground hasn't been planted on for a long time so we are still building up with fertilizers etc.
Most of our tomatoes are split, have little black speckles on the top or have what looks like water splash marks on them??

All in all a bit of a nightmare really. They taste nice but obviously I'm doing something wrong :o

    Thanks for any help :)

    :hello: Lurker.

Splitting indicates irregular watering. As far as I'm aware (happy to be corrected), when a tomato gets insufficient water, the skin thickens to prevent water loss. More water will then cause the fruit to swell, and the skin to split.

Most of my big ones have splits to some degree:

A couple of the little ones have split, but not many. They just get eaten when I find them. I don't know what the speckles are; I think I've got a few like that. Won't the water splash marks rub off?
