Nope. Amish Paste. I'm still trying to get one over 1lb, but I've got one ripening now that should do it easily.
That gherkin had a lovely, subtle, nutty flavour. :drool:If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -

I think it's meant to look like that.
It reminds me of the Little shop of horrors :rotfl:

Lotus, We had far too many too and we have so many on there now that are too tough but hey, plenty of seed for next year.0 -
MBE, can I hijack again and ask what I should do about my toms? There are small little ones (cherry tom size) that are green, buried in big bushes that are still flowering. They are outside in a little poly greenhouse thingy and I'm in COLD yorkshire. Couldn't bear for it all to go wrong now.
I've brought my chilli plant inside to continue to flourish slowly on the one sunny windowsill we have.0 -
Cut back the leaves Little Vics; to get some sun at those toms.If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.0

And if you haven't already, pinch out the growing tip(s). Time for the plant to put its energy into ripening the fruit, rather than trying to grow any more.
I think we should have a competition to grow the biggest tomato:
It sure ain't pretty, but at 1lb 11.8oz it smashes last year's best of 15oz.If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -

Only yesterday I ate my 2lb tomato, if only you'd suggested a competion earlier:D0 -

Nothing much to say about the beans. My longest is stuck at 20", but I think I'm still winning, just. Off to Norfolk tomorrow to check out the competition. How are yours?
We haven't heard anything about the Norfolk visit. Are we trying to deflect attention by starting a new competition by any chance? :eek:0 -

My mate's longest bean was just a few mm shorter than mine. I'm praying it's stopped growing, but he keeps winding me up by telling me it's grown a bit more. :eek:If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -
