That last mutant is brilliant :rotfl: What do you tie the string to? Your mystery peppers look like mine I grew from a wilko plant, they just keep coming!
Living cheap in central London :rotfl:

Your plants are all looking great MBE. I will try and do a picture update later. Out of interest how large are you GD tom's, I thought they would be a regular salad tom size but ours are much smaller than that...not sure if that's right or not???

Gardeners delight-same thing as a few of you. Trusses that are half fruit, half flowers/tiny fruits

Early jalapenos-not the best plant I have of these but it was the easiest to get to!

Looking good Fay, GD are smaller toms, and very tasty.

My neighbour's cat has taken to eating my pretty in purple chillies, ( the leaves, not the chillies!) it must have eaten over 50% from each plant, doesn't matter where I put them it goes looking for them:mad:

Outside, the top of the fence. In the greenhouse, to a horizontal string half way up the roof.
If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.

All looks well to me Fay, especially the chillis / peppers. Mine were all sown a bit late, so I'm quite pleased with the progress really. :)

Nope - they are more a large cherry tomato.
If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.

Thanks guys-I thought my GD toms were some kind of mini mutants :rotfl:I'm glad they are ok though. They taste lovely I have to say-I've never had tomatoes straight from the plant before!

The chillis are good too. I thought the pretty in purple might be hotter than they are...do they get hotter when they change to pink/orange/red?

    Hi New to Site,
this is my first post and my first year of growing veg as we moved into a new home with a very large garden, we moved as i suffered an injury and am now in a wheelchair, my DH made 2 raised beds and this year we have been amazed by our success with our plot, we are growing Broad beans, French beans, Peas, Beetroot, Radish Leeks Cauliflowers, Cabbage, Sprouts, Kahl rabbi, Corn. The people before us left us the greenhouse, so have Toms, Chillies and peppers. There have been many mistakes and many things that i will do differently next year, But this place and many other places have given me lots of help.

I've been really enjoying reading this thread; seeing how everyone is doing and comparing to my own progress. :) In the greenhouse my tomatoes (cherry and beefing types) are all doing pretty well, as are my chillis (not sure what these are but suspect jalapenos) and aubergines (which are all still tiny!) The sweet peppers on the other hand are rubbish, not sure what went wrong there.

I have a world of courgettes, although the plants seem to be getting a mould all over the leaves so not sure how long they'll keep producing. My carrots and leeks seem to have forgiven me for transplanting them, the onions are small but OK. My beets and perpetual spinach all got eaten. :( No photos I'm afraid as I'm rather technologically challened here at work (can't plug anything into my computer to download).

I do have a question though; I have runner beans that are producing, but the beans I'm getting from the plant all seem to have quite tough skins which make them very difficult to eat. To add to this, every time we eat them, my OH complains of feeling ill afterwards. What am I doing wrong? The beans we're eating look identical to the ones you can buy in the shops at this time of year...

I'm planning on stripping the plant of the big beans and making them into chutney with some of the courgettes. Will the skins soften up if I cook them for the 1 1/2 hours the recipe suggests?

    Cheers all!
