My purple sprouting broccoli has mostly germinated. I think I'm just about in time.
My gherkins are sprouting interesting bits, as is my cucumber:

An incredibly novice grower coming along to join in if that's ok? I have just rehomed 3 tom plants given to me in a grow bag, and I also have a pot of basil and a strawberry plant that I'm trying to cultivate.
I'd also like to try carrots and potatoes but need to find the best containers for them as my soil is incredibly hard and the existing flower bed doesn't get much sunlight thanks to the HUGE tree in neighbours garden.Became Mrs Scotland 16.01.16

I grow carrots (and other stuff) in these recycling bins:
They suit carrots and parsnips particularly well. I also sowed some more carrots in a supermarket flower bucket today - not too many, just a test really:

Potatoes I'm growing in the ground:

In bags, and the pots too (one seed potato in a pot, three in each bag). I don't expect much from the pots, but we'll see.
