Nice turnips, quick too, I've never been able to grow decent turnips, just as well I don't like them that much.Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0

They were gorgeous! Mashed with a bit of butter & black pepper. Accompanied by new potatoes, lamb chops and nice thick onion gravy.
I sowed them on 3/4/11, so ready in 2 months. Can't be bad.
If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -

I thought we'd already established my inability to post photos (as well as grow toms)?!! Either way, they are no bigger than they were in the original set of photos (see posts a few pages back) and I'm going to give up soon.
It really is too traumatic! I have grey hairs as a result, and had to have them highlighted today - therefore growing stuff is not very mse. Gah.0 -

No you're not.
C'mon, I'll hold your hand.
Are they outside? Are they getting some sunshine? Are you watering them regularly? What compost are they in?
They might just be recovering from their little adventure. If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -
awww....thanks........
They are outside in a poly greenhouse thingy in a very sunny spot, in large troughs full of half-proper-compost and half-special-tomato-compost. I water them every day. Some have brown leaves today, which is sad. I've already killed one on my window sill and the other one inside isn't looking too happy either.0 -
How much ventilation do they have? Could they be getting too hot? Do they show any signs of wilting at all? Are you getting water on the leaves when you water them?
Put the inside one outside, if you have a reasonably sheltered spot where they won't get shredded by the wind.
And with a bit of luck, someone else'll come and help innaminnit. If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -

oooh - getting too hot? Didn't think about that. I'll open up the front of the poly-thingy today to see if that helps.
The leaves are getting water - is that good or bad??
My chili and pepper seem to be doing ok on the windowsill and have flowers coming - am I ok to keep them there?0 -

It depends when you are watering them. first thng in the morning ie and crack of dawn or last thing at night so you don't burn the leaves . also you can add a seaweed based foliage feed which will mak the leaves lovey and green.:kisses3: Married 29th September 2012

Can you put a thermometer in there to see how hot it gets?Little_Vics wrote: »The leaves are getting water - is that good or bad??
I'd try to avoid it. The brown bits on your leaves are probably scorch marks - beads of water act like a magnifying glass so when the sun hits them it burns. I think.

If you can safely put them outside, I'd do that. They're entomophilous.
