    awww....thanks........

They are outside in a poly greenhouse thingy in a very sunny spot, in large troughs full of half-proper-compost and half-special-tomato-compost. I water them every day. Some have brown leaves today, which is sad. I've already killed one on my window sill and the other one inside isn't looking too happy either.

    Hi LittleVics,
I've got my toms in a poly greenhouse too, I unzip the front every morning and roll it up out of the way and then tuck them up again at night! Sounds like yours may have got too hot?

    Part of my tomato factory:

My other 6 lucky plants will be in the greenhouse - the three grafted ones (although I'm still a bit tempted to grow one outdoors); the two varieties I've not grown before (Galina & Red Cluster Pear) plus an Amish Paste, as I want to try and grow one that's over 1lb. :D
If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.

That's a lot of toms for a single bloke!

As my garden is only 10' wide I'll make do with my 6 plants but that's a good display, well done:T

Yeah, got carried away a bit. :o I've got two each of 8 varieties, plus the three grafted ones. I've got another three that are for a mate, but I'll let him have them once they've got flowers. By my calculations, that means I've given 19 plants away.

ok - so firstly I'm jealous MBE. Secondly I have no money to buy anything else at all, so essentially - are my toms going to grow in what I've got them in or not? What can I do that doesn't cost anything to help them along? I'm now very confused and even more on the verge of grey-ness than before.

yes that's fine, I earth up with soil or hm compost then if I have to do it again, newspaper or weed membrane but most spuds grow in a narrow depth anyway, so it's only to keep the light of the tatties.

My Blue D are through too and growing quicker than I thought considering they ended up shoved between some shrubs.:)
